Full Frontal Nudity: Mike Doyle; Gov. Chris Christie Gets Slammed Again For His Weight

The other night I watched a film titled, "Union Square," and actor Mike Doyle was part of the cast. I knew nothing about him, but I thought he looked a little like Matt Bomer so I looked him up later that night with just a basic simple search.

First, I saw that he's known mostly for TV shows I'd probably never watch, and second, to my surprise, I saw that he's also done male full frontal nudity on stage. And since I've posted about that before, and how there always seems to be a double standa...

Harvey Fierstein; "Smash;" Michele L. Montgomery "River of Tears"

I was once lucky enough to be in a book where Harvey Fierstein wrote a foreword. I posted about that here in 2009, and the title of the book was "Best Gay Love Stories 2010," released through Alyson Publications. It was an ongoing anthology series about gay love and romance Alyson did for several years in a row. I think I was part of several but don't recall the details right now.

In any event, It was a nice surprise to turn on the TV last night and see Harvey Fierstein in the...

UK Votes In Favor of Bill Legalizing Gay Marriage; Speach by David Lammy

Lawmakers in the UK voted in favor of a bill that would mean legalizing same sex marriage. Thanks to the Internet, I heard about it through a reader.

From my inbox:

It was nice to arrive home and find that the vote ended up in favour, I think by about 2/3 :) I hope the US gets its arse in gear on the subject soon! From Chicago Sun-Times: A majority of UK lawmakers have voted in favor of legalizing gay marriage.  Prime Minister David Cameron and other senior British official...

Ravenous Romance: The Vegas Shark; Phila DA Goes After Zuckerberg; Sen. Menendez Gets Online Wank

Update: Here's a purchase link to allromanceebooks.com

I've been told my new book in the Bad Boy Billionaire series, The Vegas Shark, will be out sometime today or tomorrow. I don't have links right now, but I will come back and update as soon as I get them.

I posted something about The Vegas Shark a few weeks ago, and did an interview blog hop with a group of authors and talked about a few things I don't normally get into. If you are so inclined, you can read that here.

I did a few different...

Getting People to Read Your Book by Mark Coker, Smashwords

When I got this alert in my inbox about getting people to read books, by Mark Coker, of Smashwords, I figured I would post something for those who might be interested. The article itself was in Huff Po and written by David Henry Sterry, author and book doctor.

Anything I could add would only be redundant. It's a good article you can read in full here.

I first met Mark Coker over the Internet. Which seems appropriate, given how he has done such great things for writers in the world of ebooks. I...

Another Free Book; Photo of Tony; New M/M Romance Publisher; Male Nude Scenes in "Girls"

I will write a new post about this free read sometime this week, but wanted to mention it now so I don't forget all about it. This blog is often like my big "to do" list, where I can reference a lot of things I might forget when things get busy.

In any event, my last free book at ARe is coming down (or it is down now) and I decided to do another free read with ARe with another indie published book, "Jonah Sweet of Delancey Street." It takes time to get these free reads organized,...

My Upcoming Project with Bruno Gmunder German Publisher

In the past, I've posted about how I sometimes work with publishers in Europe, like German Publisher, Bruno Gmunder. I've been working on and off with others for a long time, and I think the last thing I did for Bruno Gmunder was this, which I posted about in 2010. Over the last twenty years I've made a long list of contacts, and professional friendships, I value dearly all over the world.

Back then it was magazine work, which I've also always loved doing. There's a very different process whe...

New York Times Koch Obit Creates Outrage Over AIDS

Yesterday I posted a short piece about the death of former NYC mayor, Ed Koch. I mentioned how he'd ignored questions about whether or not he was gay, and how he became almost vicious and defensive whenever he was asked about being gay. As a side note, I've heard more than my fair share of Koch stories over the years through the proverbial grapevine in and around NYC that you won't read about in Huff Po or anywhere else, stories that would leave you speechless. But I'm only sti...

HBO Documentary About Closeted Politicians "Outrage"

This morning a friend in New York e-mailed me about Mayor Koch's passing and he wanted to know what the name of the HBO special about closeted politicians was. I remembered watching it about three or four years ago but had to do a search to come up with the name.

It was called "Outrage," and it was about something I talk about here all the time: gay public officials who are not out of the closet for various reasons. I tend to be kind and make excuses for this sort of thing, often blaming it on...

Matt Bomer Fifty & Shades Again; The Vegas Shark; RIP Mayor Koch

I haven't posted on this for a while, but the interest in actor, Matt Bomer, playing Christian in the film version of "Fifty Shades of Grey" has not subsided much. I'm not sure it will either, at least not until the part's been given to someone officially.

Would Bomer be the best Christian? I think he could do anything and play it well. I'm actually looking more forward to him in the upcoming HBO film based on Larry Kramer's "The Normal Heart." In other words, he just might be too g...
