While I was reading that ridiculously long, insulting blog post by JK Rowling with regard to her transphobic opinions, I noticed that Rowling made the same mistake that most straight people make. They assume to know information about LGBTQ+ people, when in reality that's not possible. And it's not possible because we don't even know how many LGBTQ+ people are still hiding in the closet.

Let's face it, we only get one month out of the year to celebrate all the shit we've gone through. And in many cases, are still going through. I don't think we've even begun to speculate on how many LGBTQ+ people there are out there because so many are still in the closet. I think Pride events help those people the most. Celebrate Pride Month On Film
Thanks to the coronavirus we can't celebrate Pride month this year in person anywhere, but we can celebrate in other ways. It's just unfortunate that while the rest of the responsible adult citizens in the US are paying attention to the state and national COVID guidelines, and practicing social distancing, there's another segment of the population ignoring all the most fundamental rules of a pandemic.
