Somewhere My Lass & Friendship~

"In a friend you find a second self." ~ Isabelle Norton

My new light paranormal romance, Somewhere My Lass, is a story of romance on the deepest level, and also of friendship.  To quote reviewer Poinsettia from Long and Short Reviews:

"Neil's best friend, Fergus, is one of the most amusing secondary characters I've read in a long time. His bright orange hair and obsession with science fiction and technology made me smile throughout the story. Fergus is a friend in the truest sense of...

Somewhere My Lass Won Book of the Week at LASR!

This makes the fifth of my books to achieve this award from Long and Short Reviews and I'm delighted.  Thanks so much to everyone who voted for me.  Some of you, each and every time.   Your faithfulness is greatly appreciated.

When I first began this writing journey nearly fifteen years ago, I had no idea all the adventures I'd have, or the many new friends I'd make along the way, but it's been the experience of a lifetime and one I hope to continue for many years to come.  As much as I...

The Duck Who Thinks He's A Chicken~

Earlier in the spring a mallard duck decided to make her nest against the side of my parent's house.  My Dad, a big fan of feathered fowl, checked on it daily.  One day it had been abandoned, or so he thought, and he took several of the eggs up to a faithful hen and slipped them into her nest.  As it turned out, the mother mallard had simply gone 'walk about'  and returned.  Rather than disturb matters further, he left the eggs with the little hen.The mama duck hatched her brood and...

Lovely Review for Somewhere My Lass by Author Caroline Clemmens!

Book Review–SOMEWHERE MY LASS by Beth Trissel

I love Beth Trissel's blog. It is always well written and her husband's photographs are gorgeous. My blog today, however, is about her new release, SOMEWHERE MY LASS from The Wild Rose Press. This is a time travel romance, one of my favorite reads. Once I started reading this romance, I couldn't stop reading. From the first paragraph, I was hooked! Beth keeps the reader turning the pages to see whether or not Mora and Niel will get back to ...

Have You Seen The Young Victoria?

I loved this movie.  Emily Blunt does a fabulous job (as she does in all her films) portraying the youthful princess and newly ascended queen.   She even looks like old photographs of Victoria in her youth.  Prince Albert, played by Rupert Friend, gives a charming portrayal of this sensitive and wise man.   Their romance was deeply moving.  The film itself is beautifully done from the period setting to the sumptuous costumes, and is mostly accurate historically.  I highly recommend watching t...

Do You Remember The French and Indian War?

Anyone?  I do, almost as if I lived back then.  My early American ancestors did.

When I wrote historical romance novel Through the Fire I felt as though I'd been through the flames. My hero and heroine certainly had. This adventure romance with a strong The Last of the Mohicans flavor and a mystical weave was born in the fertile ground of my imagination, fed by years of research and a powerful draw to my colonial roots.

My fascination with stirring tales of the colonial frontier and Eastern...
