The 2010 Robin Hood with Russell Crowe

I'm a Robin Hood junkie so I actually saw this film in the theater when it first came out.  Love the soundtrack and especially the main theme.  The movie was kind of a mixed bag for me.  While Russell Crowe (say what you like about his personal life that man can act!) and his costar Cate Blanchett (always a class act) did a fabulous job and the film certainly held my attention it was very dark compared to the other takes on 'Hood' that I'm accustomed to. Not sure I like dark as much.

"Truths and Roses"~

"Love is much like a wild rose, beautiful and calm, but willing to draw blood in its defense." ~Mark Overby

"You are responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose."

~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

"Life is a rose; beware of the thorns."

"Beauty without virtue is like a rose without scent."

~Proverb Quote

"How did it happen that their lips came together? How does it happen that birds sing, that snow melts, that the rose unfolds, that the dawn whitens behind...

Interesting Fact Unearthed About Medieval Scotland

Somewhere My Lass is a unique suspenseful Scottish time travel romance and opens in a Victorian home in historic Staunton, Virginia. While doing research for the story I uncovered a wealth of information about various time periods and the many facets that go along with a particular setting.  The study I did for Somewhere My Lass boggles the mind, but all my books are like that.  One fascinating archeological discovery that influenced this story is the ancient hospital run by monks at

For The Love of Violets~

"Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it."

~ Mark Twain

"The splendor of the rose and the whitness of the lily do not rob the little violet of it's scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its lovliness."

~Therese of Lisieux

"Everything about Florence seems to be colored with a mild violet, like diluted wine."

~Henry James

"Each violet peeps from its dwelling to gaze at the bright stars a...

Old Trinity Episcopel Church in Staunton, Virginia

Description: "The oldest church in Staunton, this historic church was founded in 1746. The present church, a distinguished example of early Gothic Revival architecture, was begun in 1855 and it boasts an extraordinary collection of stained glass windows, including many by Tiffany Studios. "

This also happens to be an old family church on my father's side.   The Churchman's had their own pew.  Earlier this spring we attended a lovely birthday party at the church for a delightful lady on her ...

Welcome to my Special Guest Author Victoria Gray~

To begin with let's include a little bit of background info about my guest.

Victoria wrote her first story soon after she started elementary school.  When she was in the third grade, her mother bought her a Smith Corona manual typewriter.  She was officially a writer!

A trained librarian, she uses her research skills to explore other eras in time.  Her interest in research is a perfect fit with her work as a writer of historical romance.

Victoria lives in Virginia with her own hero, her husband ...
