Why I'm A Romantic

"I think we dream so we don't have to away from one another.  If we're each other's dreams, we'll always be together." ~ Hobbes, on Romance, as in Calvin and Hobbs.

"This was love at first sight, love everlasting: a feeling unknown, unhoped for, unexpected-in so far as it could be a matter of conscious awareness: it took entire possession of  him, and he understood, with joyous amazement, that this was for life." ~ Thomas Mann, on Romance

"Love won't be tampered with, love won't away, Push it t...

Spring Is Bursting Out All Over

Not long ago at all we were adrift in seemingly endless snow.  Only last week evidence of the white stuff still hung on in shaded places.   And then, as if by magic, spring is here.  I realize there are still chilly days yet to come and we could have some late season snow, but new life is all around us.   I heard a meadowlark trill today, my favorite song bird, and that makes it official.  Even the wooded hills above the meadow are flushed with the barest hint of rose as tender leaves bud...

ENEMY OF THE KING Gets an 'A' from Miss Lynn's Books & More

Enemy Of The King by Beth Trissel-"A"

Rated 5+ Stars

When during the Read an E-Book read, I came across Beth Trissels blog about E- readers. I always like to leave a comments when I visit a blog, I feel it's the neighborly thing to do. When I got a chance to choose an E-Book to read, I was not particular, just pick one and send. I love Historical Novels so I knew I would like whatever she sent. One of my favorite movies is "The Patriot" and when I received "Enemy Of The King" from her...

Irish Poems and Blessings for St. Patrick's Day~

"May those who love us, love us. And those who don't love us, May God turn their hearts; And if He doesn't turn their hearts, May He turn their ankles, So we will know them by their limping." ~Irish Blessing

Contributed by my husband. :)

My friend Patricia Mann's late father, Bob McCluskey, was an Irishman.  Here are some sayings found among his papers which she has kindly shared with me and I with you~

"When I feel them a-coming,

A spell of the blues.

Feel worried and troubled,

Don't know what to d...

Announcing Winners of My E-book Giveaway!

Thanks to all of you who participated.  I much appreciate your feedback about the advantages and disadvantages of various e-readers.  Kindle came in first with the Sony e-reader hard on its heels.  I am leaning toward a Kindle when I get around to making my purchase, or begging my next birthday gift.

Each winner of my E-book giveaway will receive one of my digital books.  As I have four novels out and a story in an anthology, there are five winners. They can choose which of my releases they...

Spotlight On Light Paranormal Romance Somewhere My Love

I've read that Virginia has more ghost stories than any other state in the Union, not necessarily because we have a more fertile imagination, but sadly because the Old Dominion has seen more bloody battles over the centuries than any other. Think back, Jamestown (1607) was the site of the oldest successful English settlement and its history is a violent one. And on we go to the many heart-rending wars fought with the usurped Indians, a number of them waged on Virginia soil. March on...

Virginia, My Rich Inspiration (Old Homes & Historic Sites)

You may know I'm a Virginian living in the lovely Shenandoah Valley, but did you realize my family has been here for several hundred years and were among the earliest settlers in the valley, that the driving force behind my writing has been my passion for Virginia and its rich history, and reaches even further back to my English/Scots-Irish roots?  I find inspiration in the stories and places known to the people who've gone before me.  Many of these homes were dear to them and still are to...

Historical Romance RED BIRD'S SONG Has A Release Date!
