Halfway to Forever

This month I wanted to blog about a very special writer I met several years ago…

Contributed by my friend Mary Marvella

Sometimes life throws a curve ball and sometimes the curve ball is followed a pitch so fast you don't even swing until the catcher's already caught the ball. This happened to a writer I know.   Lee Scofield who was in the first round of edits for her book, Halfway to Forever, when her husband suddenly and unexpectedly passed away—only days later she suffered a...

What Keeps Me Writing?

Contributed by my friend Mary Marvella

What keeps me writing? The same thing that keeps me going, and going, and going. When I'm not selling cosmetics and skincare products or tutoring, I write fiction. I can't help myself.

The universe has so many stars and planets, we can't count them all. New heavenly bodies appear as old ones disappear. Stories and characters fill my imagination and demand their time on paper. They want their stories told and I am sometimes their slave and sometimes their m...

Somewhere My Lass Out On Kindle Now~

For those of you with Kindles, my light paranormal romance Somewhere My Lass is available in Kindle at Amazon now.

Neil MacKenzie's well ordered life turns to chaos when Mora Campbell shows up claiming he's her fiance from 1602 Scotland. Her avowal that she was chased to the future by clan chieftain, Red MacDonald, is utter nonsense, and Neil must convince her that she is just addled from a blow to her head–or so he believes until the MacDonald himself shows up wanting blood.

Mora knows...

My love as deep; the more I give to thee,

The more I have, for both are infinite." ~ Juliet to Romeo

Do You Remember The Patriots?

When you celebrate Memorial Day, do you remember the original Patriots, The Founding Fathers and Mothers, you know, those guys?  I do.

Maybe it's because I live in historic rich Virginia and my ancestors were among those early Americans, maybe because I've invested years of study in The American Revolution and the  events leading up to it.  I get it.  I know what it was all about.  And it was a big deal, a huge deal with a shot heard round the world.  I'm also acutely aware of how far our...

The Glorious Month of June

And since all this loveliness can not be Heaven,

I know in my heart it is June.
~Abba Goold Woolson (1838–1921)
****Ah June, among the fairest of all months.  Here in the valley, June came in like July with hot humid temps and we await thunderstorms for needed rain.  Yesterday, Memorial Day, my home-from-college daughter Elise and I worked far too hard in the vegetable garden, but we'd gotten behind and were under a flash flood watch.  Not a drop fell from the searing sky, OK, maybe one or...

Sharing a Sentimental Moment

Contributed by my friend Judy Keim~

I was sitting at my desk yesterday morning, when two sonic booms brought me to my feet. The dog barked and I ran to the window, knowing immediately what it was. I raced outdoors and heard the steady sound of the shuttle coming in for a landing. I hurried to the TV and watched as the Challenger came in for a smooth landing for the last time after twenty-five years of work. The announcer's voice faltered and tears slid down my cheeks at the realization. I...

More About The Story Behind Light Paranormal Romance Somewhere My Lass (Release Date May 26)

I realized the release date for SOMEWHERE MY LASS is almost upon me.  I know some of you are counting the days for the next installment in my 'SOMEWHERE' series.  SOMEWHERE MY LASS was an intriguing tale to weave and will not, I trust,  disappoint.  I did my usual obsessive research, but I love gleaning more about the past, so that's all good.  The hero and heroine, Neil and Mora, were vivid in my mind and a lot of fun to write.  The romance between them is one of the best I've ever...

Battling Vampires & Powerhouse Foods That Fight Cancer & Boost Immunity

Those pesky blood suckers, I've tried bringing in a sharp shooter (not effective) getting them to gang up on each other, (better) even enlisted several as allies (however, my supporters weren't the dominant male or female vampire)…and so on it goes every night now in my dreams.  Probably because last week, after a number of tests, the hematologist informed me that I have a low-grade chronic leukemia, likely had it for several years and that I could go on as I am for many more without...
