TAXI TALK
One of the reasons TAXI was such a popular show is that the cast had such a great connection off-screen as well as on. Those friendships continue to this day. If you’re a listener of THE MARILU HENNER SHOW you know that Tuesday is the day for TAXI TMI. When the Taxi theme plays Marilu reaches into her memory (her phenomenal memory) and shares a story about a cast member, something that happened during a taping or another interesting anecdote from her days on the Taxi set. They range from hysterical to heartwarming and there are always a few surprises.
Remember……if you have a question you would like Marilu to answer you can call 267-MARILU1 . She may play your question on the air. The line is always open so call anytime!

SUPER BOWL BEVERAGES
You can’t walk through a grocery store without seeing magazine covers touting healthy versions (and not-so-healthy) versions of Super Bowl snack favorites. We have tons of recipes here at Marilu.com that will help make your buffet a hit without your health taking a hit. We’ve even offered an entire class on the subject.
Today we’re going to offer some beverage tips straight from Marilu’s NY Times Bestselling book “Health Holidays” And of course, it’s no surprise that on Super Bowl Sunday we’re talking about BEER.
“Beer, beer and beer! Did I mention beer? Beer is the official beverage of the Super Bowl Consider renting a keg instead of buying bottles or cans. Kegs add a fun-frat-boy-Animal-House-community-spirit to the event. And just for the health of it, place a water cooler next to the keg with a sign saying “FOR A GOOD TIME, PLEASE DRINK EQUAL AMOUNTS OF BOTH.” You can do the exact same thing with a tub of beer bottles in ice and a tub of bottled spring water in ice. And don’t forget about nonalcoholic beer as an option. You may even want to have a taste test among the better brands to satisfy your guests’ urge for that beer taste but without the alcohol. Just a footnote: Beer is considered to be one of the two healthiest alcoholic beverages (sake being the other), for several reasons. Beer and sake are naturally fermented and not distilled, and therefore not as potent as wine and hard liquor. And they are both made from grains rather than fruit, so they combine and metabolize much better with food.”

GIVE IT A REST
Your muscle groups that is. Most fitness experts will recommend 24-72 hours rest following intense training for a specific muscle group.
