SPIRITUAL WARFARE: The Helmet of Salvation

So far in this series on the armor of God, we've studied the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace shoes, and the shield of faith.
Today we'll study the helmet of salvation.
PROTECT YOUR MIND
Take a look at the picture above, and you'll see how vital this defensive piece of armor is. It protects the head, a very vulnerable target on the soldier of Chri...

Here's an awesome post by Christian author Mary DeMuth about authors and promoting books: http://bit.ly/bQEhsq (My opinion: Marketing and promotion is one of the hardest tasks authors face, since we are generally introverted by nature. I think it's even more difficult for Christian authors, because we know that underneath it all our writing is about Christ & His Kingdom and not us. I so appreciate Mary's authenticity and transparency.)

The Journey So Far (Part Deux)
This series of posts on my publication journey is designed to help you writer types better understand the realm of independent publishing. Since I feel like I'm walking in semi-darkness, I'm hoping that I can shed light on the process. (And if any of you precede me, can you throw a little light my way?) =)

BOOK REVIEW: "Double Trouble" by Susan May Warren

So when I came across the opportunity to read and review Double Trouble, starring my favorite PI, PJ, I didn't hesitate to say YES!

She's enjo...

AUTHOR INTERVIEW: Anne Patrick (& Book Giveaway!)
I'm glad to welcome author Anne Patrick to WordVessel. Here' her bio:
Anne Patrick is the best-selling author of 'Sweet' Edge of Your Seat Romantic Suspense. Although her romances are 'G' rated, her books are far from boring. She has an alter ego by the name of Kinzie Monroe, who writes Inspirational Romance. Anne, you might say, is the dark side of Kinzie. We all have one don't we? Her books may be darker in subject matter, but all her books carry messages of hope and faith.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: The Shield of Faith

LIVING ABOVE "SEE"-LEVEL:
"We live by faith, not by sight." ~2 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV)
The Biblical definition of faith is found in Hebrews 11:1. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." (NIV) As believers, our faith rests in God. That belief, surety, and certainty provides us with a powerful defensive weapo...
