Spilled Out - Part Two

(Over the next few weeks leading up to Easter, I've decided to change up my routine a bit and offer Bible stories about characters and their relationship to Jesus. I wanted to be able to see the arrest, crucifixion and resurrection from their eyes. We don't have all the details of these stories given in the Bible, so those parts have been fictionalized. This story is in several parts, and is told from the perspective of Mary, the sister of Martha and Lazarus. You can read part one here.)

UPDATES:

TEXAS ROADS (e-book version) has made it through the Smashwords pipeline, and is now available in e-book format at Kobo.com. My dashboard shows that it has also shipped to Barnes & Noble, but as of this posting, the book has not gone live on the site yet.

This past week I was interviewed on SellingBooks.com and A Hen's Nest (Print copy giveaway of TEXAS ROADS through the end of the month!), and next week I'll be at Casey Herringshaw's lovely blog, Operation Encourage An Author, wher...

BOOK REVIEW: "Once in a Blue Moon" by Leanna Ellis (& Book Giveaway!)

Death has always shadowed journalist Bryn Seymour. So much so that she often thinks in tombstone epitaphs. Losing her mother when she was only nine on the same day Apollo 11 landed on the moon has left her with unanswered questions. Questions that no one seems willing to answer.

Then on assignment to cover the fortieth anniversary of the historic lunar landing, Bryn meets Howard, a former classmate of her mother's. When she contacts him later, he sends her on a cryptic scavenger hunt in Marf...

AUTHOR INTERVIEW: Amanda Cabot (& Book Giveaway!)

I'm delighted to welcome author Amanda Cabot to WordVessel today. Here's her bio:

Amanda Cabot has always been a dreamer, and so it's no coincidence that her first books for the CBA market are called Texas Dreams.  Set in the Hill Country beginning in 1856, these deeply emotional historical romances showcase God's love as well as that between a man and a woman.  The first in the trilogy, Paper Roses, is in its second printing, and Scattered Petals was a March 1 release.

A former director of...

AUTHOR INTERVIEW: Robin Shope (& Book Giveaway!)

How did you come to be a writer ? Falling in love with writing in the fifth grade was the easy part. I adored my writing teacher. She always read the best compositions aloud in class. The way she cradled them in her hands told me they were treasures. I worked extremely hard to please her; to hear my words read aloud—but I was never chosen. A few years later, we moved to Delavan, Wisconsin. I wrote a composition for my language arts teacher and she told me there was no way I could have written ...

AUTHOR INTERVIEW: Louise M. Gouge (& Book Giveaway!)

I'm delighted to welcome Louise M. Gouge to WordVessel today. Hi, Louise!

Hi, Cathy. Thank you so much for inviting me to visit you. I'm Louise Gouge (my writing name includes my middle initial, so it's Louise M. Gouge), and I've been writing seriously since 1984. My first novel was released by Crossway Books in 1994, and I've had nine books published since then. I love researching and writing historical novels, usually with a strong romantic thread. My dear hubby David and I have been marri...

Before we get started, I wanted to let you know that I'm giving away an e-book of TEXAS ROADS today at Living Our Faith Out Loud, Lisa Lickel's lovely blog. Now on to our interview!

WordVessel is pleased to welcome author Jane Kirkpatrick. Jane, how long have you been writing and when was your first book published?   I've always written but in my childhood, I wrote "wretched little poems."  My first book, Homestead, was published in 1991 though I was fortunate to publish in an odd assortment ...
