Summer Splash!!! Weekly Winner

What an awesome week! I never dreamed when I kicked off Summer Splash!! that it would be such a big hit. I was really trying to find something fun for the summer that would be a win-win situation for TEXAS ROADS and you! I can't say "thank you" enough for the amazing response.
And the First Wild-card Blog Tour for TEXAS ROADS was better than I could have imagined. A HUGE and hearty "Blessings!" for all the bloggers who took the time to read and review the story. So many of the...

Keeping An Emotional Journal
First, let me invite you to join me at the Hwy. 82/287 250-mile Garage Sale!!! (The name is almost as long as the sale itself.) I'm on the eastern end of the sale in New Boston, TX, and I'll be downtown under the pavilion signing book (& selling my stuff)! If you're in the area, drop by on either Friday or Saturday!
Now on to our post. Last week, I did a guest blog post for the ACFW blog on Keeping an Emotional Journey. Here it again in case you missed it the first time.

Changes
June is always one of those months where I have a tendency to step back and re-evaluate my life. This June is no different. In fact, it's been on my mind a lot during the past few weeks. What needs to stay? What needs to go?
To be more to the point: What changes do I need to make?
Over the past few months, my life has been consumed with this blog, my private music studio, and giving TEXAS ROADS the best possible launch I could muster. (On a side note, I must once again express my heartfelt...

BOOK SPOTLIGHT: "Refining Fires" by Erin Rainwater
A disfigured veteran. A ruined nurse. A tormented child. A kept woman. Strangers whose paths cross, bringing redemption into each other's lives in ways none of them could have predicted.
These four characters are introduced in three heartwarming stories in Erin Rainwater's latest novel, Refining Fires.
This 3-in 1 format was a hard sell to agents and publishers, Erin concedes. Though advised to break up the stories—and their characters—and try to sell them as independent short stories, Eri...

Hearing God's Voice (Part 1)
"My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." ~John 10:27 (NIV)
Our last series about knowing and doing God's will opened another door of Bible study for me on hearing God's voice. After all, if we don't hear His voice, how are we supposed to know how to live a life that pleases Him and stays in the center of His will?
My own personal issue with all of this is that while I trust God's ability to speak to me, I often mistrust my ability to hear Him correctly (which I'm con...

What I Learned From My Phobia-Ridden Cat
Ever heard the term scaredy-cat? Whoever invented that turn of phrase knows my cat, Miney. She's afraid of just about everything. Though she's been an outdoor cat most of her life, when I let her out after her feeding she skedaddles to the dark cavern beneath our century-old farmhouse, only reappearing when I call her for the next meal.
The other day I realized the correlation between my phobia-ridden cat and me.
I know Miney would be fine lazing on the front porch soaking in a sunny day. ...
