Who Is Your Ideal Client?
A rose for the ideal client
Who is your ideal client offline and online? The client/customer who really, really needs what you have to offer.
While it may seem counterintuitive, the more specific you can be in the offer of your products or services, the more likely you will sell your products or services.
Here's an example:
On Tuesday I was the guest on a teleseminar by Roger C. Parker of publishedandprofitable.com. During the question-and-answer period someone asked me to recommend a...

Internet Marketing: Freebie Offers and Freebie Offer Titles
I had the opportunity of being a guest on the Tuesday teleseminar conversation of Roger C. Parker of PublishedandProfitable.com. The discussion topic was my free report "How to Monetize Your Site/Blog Without Ads" and the writing of this report.
During the question part of the teleseminar, listeners asked what a website's freebie offer should be to motivate people to provide their email addresses as well as what the title of that freebie offer should be.

Two Thumbs Down: Facebook Changes "Fan" a Page to "Like" a Page
Today is the day that people with Facebook fan pages received this message at the top of their page:
Introducing the Like button
Starting today people will be able to connect with your Page by clicking "Like" rather than "Become a Fan." We hope this action will feel much more lightweight, and that it will increase the number of connections made across the site. Learn more.
And when you click on learn more and get to the help center, then scroll down to the pertinent section, and then expand t...

What I Learned from the "American Stories" Art Exhibit in LA
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art currently has the special exhibit "American Stories" Paintings of Everyday Life, 1765-1915), which features pictures of American painters depicting figurative and fictional "stories" of American life.
While the person writing the picture explanations may have gone somewhat overboard, the main point of this special exhibit comes through loud and clear: Compelling stories capture people's attention and can be used to subtly sway people to the painter's...

Google Search Stories — New Option to Upload to YouTube
Another Internet marketing option has become available — using Google Search Stories to create mini-videos.
Yael first made one for our client TAL Tours — you can see the video at www.taltours.com/israel-tours
Then I made this one about our company Miller Mosaic Power Marketing.
If you watch both videos, you'll notice that, for the TAL Tours video, Yael chose images for her search terms and, for the Miller Mosaic one, I chose web search for my search terms.

Email Inbox Ups and Downs: Internet Marketing
What of the exciting things about being an Internet marketer is that one never knows what one's email inbox might hold.
On the positive side, here are three things from my inbox today:
Jennifer Thieme, a QuickBooks consultant, responded to my email message asking what people thought of the new email format I used. She replied: "I like the new format. You have a lot of great tips and I am glad I signed up for your newsletter. I also REALLY liked your Power of 3 ebook."
And because of this I...

Microblog Email Marketing: A Brave New World
Thanks to help from Christina Hills during her monthly membership club call about how to effectively use 1shoppingcart I learned about using templates for email marketing.
While the template I chose to adapt appeared to be more for a newsletter, I adapted it for an email message. And in doing so, it ended up looking like the above.
In the message I sent out I asked for feedback on this new format, and I got excellent feedback from Donna Perugini (@DonnaPerugini on Twitter). She thought the...
How to Keep Your Website Visitors From Getting Distracted Before They Sign Up for Your Free Report
It's a well-regarded "rule" of effective websites that the email optin box you have on your website should be on every page (you never know on what page a person will enter your site) and "above the fold" (visible without requiring a person to scroll down).
It's also a well-regarded "recommendation" that you offer a free something in order to encourage people to give you their name and email address.
For my sites I've always offered a free report. And here's the strategy I formerly employed...

Twitter Tips for More Effective Tweeting
Here are several tips based on a question I've been asked and tweets/profiles I've seen recently:
• Question from Miller Mosaic client Patrick Mahaney (www.patrickmahaney.com):
When someone does an #FF with @patrickmahaney what does this mean?
Answer:
#FF is the hashtag for Follow Friday — it's a Twitter thing on Fridays when people recommend other people to follow.
Here's an example of what this looks like:
Great marketing people to follow: @1stusername @2ndusername @3rdusername [depending on...
Six Free Commercial License Fonts That I've Used
I love free fonts. I'm not a "real web designer" or a "typography junkie" but something about downloading cool free fonts makes me happy.
Every time I see a blog post that's a list of "free" fonts I get excited. But then I'm often disappointed as so many of the fonts are personal-use only fonts.
I don't download personal-use fonts. Every font I have might be used for a commercial project one day so I don't want any personal-use fonts on my computer.
Below is a list of free commercial...
