Well, that was fun…
Not. OMG – this house is like a magnet for illness lately. My poor kid got so sick (probably food poisoning) the other night, so, as I said in the comments, I couldn't pick the contest winners. So I had my husband pick 2 numbers and the corresponding winners are Viki S. and Debbie Talbot! Guys, email me with your addresses and I'll get Dire Needs out to you ASAP!
I have more ARCs to give away (those are advances reading copies, fyi, which means they're uncorrected galleys but pretty close to what the real version will be barring some wrong words / etc.) I'm also going to gift some copies of Dire Warning too as soon as the preorder links go up
Anyway, you guys had awesome lists of books to be read – most of us have very similar tastes in reading

My interview is up at the HEA USA Today Blog!
I was interviewed about SEAL of My Dreams (and other things) over at the USA Today Blog – you can read the whole thing here. In the month of November (release month) the book earned

So, in honor of that, I'm going to give away two signed ARCs of DIRE NEEDS! The contest ends at 10PM EST, and all you have to do to be entered is to tell me what upcoming books you're most looking forward to in the comments below. I always end up with a huge list of books to buy when I ask this question.

Updates for the new year…
Okay, a few updates before I head back to the deadline cave where I resided for the better half of the last year It's likely not to change, which is a very, very good thing.
Obviously, my website has been revamped – it's it gorgeous?! Waxcreative, as always, exceeded my expectations! So now it reflected the wolf as well as the romantic suspenses and I think it ties in so well.
Wax also redid the Sydney Croft page as well!
So, upcoming – and SOON – is the prequel to the Eternal Wolf Clan series – Dire Warning! It releases February 7th and then Dire Needs: Book 1 in the EWC series comes out March 6th!
For those who've been asking about poor Reid and Grier from Night Moves, yes, I totally plan to do something for them before the new suspense series begins in 2013 – I promise to keep you posted!
Other than that, I'm diving into the first of the new romantic suspense series – the book is currently titled Unbreakable and the series is called Section 8. I just handed in book 2 in the Eternal Wolf Clan series and I'm getting ready for a blog tour for the upcoming releases. And, I'm also going to try to blog here more.
Stop laughing. Just keep staring at Rifter over there on the left. And I'll update here for the blog tour because there will be giveaways along the way! Hope everyone's doing well and having a good start to 2012 – we had our first dusting of snow last night so it's finally starting to feel like winter. I like winter. Probably because I commute from the bedroom to the kitchen and back…

Night Moves release day!
Kell has arrived! Night Moves is on sale, both print and eBook, and, on November 7th, it will also be available in audio from Tantor! Actually, all 4 Shadow Force books sold to Tantor, so they'll be releasing between November 7th and December 26th. I spoke to the narrator, Johanna, and she's awesome – she's done all the Sookie Stackhouse and Kelly Armstrong books.
NIGHT MOVES
A nything can happen under the cover of darkness.
Kell Roberts has walked the thin line between life and death for so long that it now feels like home. He is a soldier, a survivor, and a loner. Still, Kell cannot turn his back on the beautiful woman caught in his firefight against the drug lords of Mexico. She says her name is Teddie, but Kell senses there's much more to her story—and it's about to pull him into a mission he didn't sign on for: keeping her alive.
Teddie Lassiter knows this lean, mean rescuer just saved her life, but the steel glint behind those soft gray eyes seem to be hiding something deep. The men after Teddie are deadly, but the man who holds her life in his hands and tempts her with his wicked touch is even more dangerous. He could make her dream about living and loving again. And if they can survive, maybe, just maybe, they can stop fighting the world and each other—and simply surrender.

You can read an excerpt here and find character lists and soundtracks as well here! And a few people have asked if it's the last of the Shadow Force series – the answer is no, for sure. I have a lot of plans, especially for Reid and Grier. Also, I'm not done with Romantic Suspense – I've got a new RS series – Section 8 – coming out with NAL. I'm excited for all my upcoming projects!

SEAL of My Dreams site up & running!
There are several upcoming projects I'm really excited about, but none means more than being part of the SEAL OF MY DREAMS anthology. All proceeds go to Veterans Medical Research and I'm so grateful to have a chance to give back to these heroes! I'm buying zillions of copies and everyone's getting them for Christmas – everyone! The authors I'm side by side with are amazing and I can't wait until release day – November 11th – Veteran's Day! And yes, it will be available in both print and eBook format, thanks to Belle Books!
My short story is connected to the HOLD series – you'll see Jake and Chris and Jamie and Nick and the rest of the gang. We were only supposed to write 5K and mine is close to 8K, so I cheated a little. But there was so much more I wanted to write! I'm definitely not done with this series and I've got plans, plans I tell you.
Anyway, as always, it's been busy here, but Fall is always my favorite season. I think it has something to do with school starting and having taught, but I always view September as the beginning for me. I tend to get a huge bulk of writing done during this time too – I also plan for new projects as well.
I'm often asked how I write, how I stay focused, etc. In fact, Sarah just asked me on Twitter last night! If you've been visiting this blog for a while, you've heard this before, but I like to talk about my process in case there are new writers out there who think there's only one way to do things.
There's not. And when I first started out, I didn't know that. I couldn't finish a book to save my life and couldn't figure out why. Somehow, I'd gotten it into my head that a book needed to be written in order.
The big secret? It doesn't. You can write out of order! You can write the end first, the middle first, you can jump all around. At some point, of course, you have to pull the whole thing together, but until then, get it written any way you can. I typically see the big moments first, and I tend to write those first. I write down anything and everything that comes to mind. But the key is, I'm always writing – because I have to for my contracts, but more so because I love writing. I can't not write.
I also write several books at once. I don't plot much, so this definitely helps my productivity. I'm always moving forward on something. Obviously, the contracted work that's due next is the priority, but I usually have a couple of things with close due dates, plus copy edits, etc. And somehow, the big mishmash all works for me. I'm a really organized person, and writing in a disorganized way works because I can see the bigger picture – I keep my eye on it the entire time and I know I can pull together the puzzle in the end. Is it the easiest way to write? I don't know, but it's the only way I can, and I've tried others. But I've written somewhere in the vicinity of 20 books or more and at this point, it's my process and I'm sticking with it.
As we approach NanoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month in November) I'll try to talk more about process and publishing and the like. If you've got anything specific you'd like me to talk about, feel free to put it in comments or drop me an email via my contact page!

Dire Needs cover & blurb!!!
First, I can't thank all of you enough for all the great feedback I'm getting about IN THE AIR TONIGHT (it released Tuesday – you can get more info about the book here!) I'm so glad so many people are loving Mace and Paige
Now, I want to share the cover and blurb for my first NAL paranormal – world, meet Rifter:
DIRE NEEDS: A Novel of the Eternal Wolf Clan
Book 1
March 6, 2012 / Signet
The full moon is their mistress. They are predators of pleasure and pain. Feared by humans, envied by werewolves, the Dire Wolves are immortal shifters, obeying no laws but their own bestial natures. Once they were many, but now only six remain, a dangerous wolfpack forever on the hunt…
Rifter leads the pack, embracing the lifestyle and ethics of an outlaw biker even as he battles an ancient enemy who has become a new, powerful force. But with his Brother Wolf raging inside him, howling to be unleashed, he needs to satisfy his hungers. And when he meets a drop-dead gorgeous blonde drinking alone in a bar that caters to both human and inhuman, Rifter's primal instinct is to claim her.
Gwen has her own desires, long unfulfilled. She hopes a passionate night with the leather-clad, Harley-riding biker will ease her suffering. The seizures that have wracked her body her entire life are incurable—and they're killing her.
But none of that will matter if Rifter can't stop the growing threat to them all–trappers who are determined to enslave humankind and use the Dire wolves as part of their nefarious plan.

NAL got this cover SO RIGHT! I'm in love – I mean, this guy IS Rifter. YAY!!!
