Two guns, two dead;
is anything solved?
In Missouri, two men got into an argument over a gambling debt. Later, the winner was flaunting the gold watch that the loser had used to pay him. So the loser pulled a gun and shot the winner dead.
In Kansas, two men were arguing over politics in a bar. One got so upset, he pulled a gun and killed the other. A couple of nights later, that gunman was shot dead by the victim's friends.

More drama than necessary again
EAST HARTFORD, Conn. Maybe it wasn't a one-week cold. Maybe it's a monthlong fever. Whatever it is, the Michigan Wolverines have it bad, and even as they win games they are tumbling backward - in what was supposed to be the romping part of their season.

From the Detroit Free Press: In living, keep your obituary in mind
What will they say about you when you're gone?
I attended a funeral this past week of a woman named Sarah Lewis, the widow of my childhood rabbi, Albert Lewis. A 92-year-old pillar of her community, she was eloquent, brilliant, devoted and religious.
The service was sparse and simple. Mostly prayers and thoughts. First, several of her grandchildren spoke, followed by her two daughters and her son.
Each of them mentioned something they had learned from their mother or grandmother. A life lesson that was indelibly etched in their hearts.

GLENDALE, Ariz. It was like having to give your Christmas present back, just when you were having so much fun playing with it.
Reggie Bush was all over the place in Week 1, and the Lions looked unstoppable.
He left the game in Week 2, and the Lions looked unmovable.
Over and over in the second half Sunday, Detroit's offense ran onto the field and, too quickly, ran off, once Bush left after a helmet to the knee.
"It's tough to get a rhythm when you're going three-and-out," Matthew Stafford admitted.
From the Detroit Free Press: Believe it!
The way the day was going, you thought they were going to take away your car keys and make you earn them back.
There have been crazy Lions season openers, but this one Sunday wins the prize. It was like a magician's rehearsal: Now you have it, now you don't. Touchdowns called back. Points on and off the board. Sure things suddenly unsure. Blown snaps. Score-erasing penalties. Abra-ca-dumba!
