This past Saturday, with the help of a special harness, Augie conquered 20 feet. #everydaymiracles

CORONA DEL MAR, Calif.  Lindsay Nieto remembers it well, the day her father told her he was dying. She still was in high school, and, with her older brother, she met her dad and stepmother at a coffee shop before classes. "They came walking towards us, holding hands, and they never did that," she says. "Then my father asked us to come sit in the car. The first thing I thought was, 'Who's in trouble?'"

The Latest From MitchAlbom.com: A Time to Help DTE Energy

When: July 26, 2014  |   9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.


Project: For the past eight years, DTE Energy converted some of its land into gardens managed by Gleaners Community Food Bank to grow fresh produce vital to basic nutrition.  The harvest feeds needy people through Gleaners’ partnerships with neighborhood food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters & social service agencies.  Currently, there are four gardens in the metro-Detroit area that collectively amount to 2 acres.  This garden network is referred to as DTE Energy Farm.  Harvested crops from the Westland garden goes to the Lighthouse Home Missions pantry.
