Now, I can almost hear the collective question: “Aren’t resolutions and intentions pretty much the same thing?” Well, not exactly. Resolutions have a certain rigidity about them – they’re like setting a fixed destination on a map and attempting to navigate a straight line to get there. The problem is, that life isn’t a linear journey; it’s more like an unpredictable road trip with unexpected twists and turns. Resolutions often set us up for frustration and self-doubt when we inevitably deviate from that predetermined path.
Intentions, on the other hand, offer a more flexible and forgiving perspective. They’re like choosing the general direction we want to head in without being overly fixated on a specific endpoint. Intentions act as gentle guideposts that help us navigate the winding road of life while staying true to our core values and aspirations. It’s about embracing the journey, not just reaching the destination.
So, how does one go about setting intentions for the New Year? Let’s break it down into a roadmap for a more mindful and purposeful journey ahead.

For example, let me share my own intention for the upcoming year: “balance.” In a world that often feels like a juggling act, I aim to find equilibrium in my work, relationships, health and self-care. Instead of imposing strict resolutions like committing to the gym every single day, my intention involves incorporating more movement into my routine while also prioritizing rest and relaxation.

This is for the first time, I have picked up romantic fiction, but let me tell you, I didn’t regret doing that. Reading a love story is certainly a soothing experience. Here is what A Little Bit of Love by Arva Bhavnagarwala is all about.
Little Bit About A Little Bit of Love“A Little Bit of Love” is not just another romantic tale; it’s a narrative that brings the concept of “love” to life in all its varied forms. Arva, the author, has skillfully crafted a memorable and refreshing story. What stands out is the refreshing departure from the usual portrayal of the characters seen through the lens of Bollywood.
The main character Afrah, is a young woman full of ambition, resilience, love, and life. She is focused on her career and strives to be financially independent. Her pursuit often leads to clashes with her mother, who insists on her “settling down.” Fortunately, Afrah’s father supports her aspirations. Marriage isn’t on her radar until fate introduces Sadiq, a medical student, into her life. This marks the beginning of a sweet and memorable relationship between the two.
Arva’s storytelling skill is evident, and it’s hard to believe that this is her debut work. The success of the story lies in her detailed and authentic depiction of the city and its inhabitants. Mumbai comes to life through her narrative, capturing the essence of local trains, monsoons, life in chawls, roadside eateries, the struggles of the working class, and the dreams of the youth. A significant city tragedy plays a crucial role in the storyline, but the main characters, like the city itself, show resilience and learn to thrive despite the shocks and disasters.

Other than Afrah and Sadiq, the other characters are also well-potrayed. The dynamics of Afrah’s relationship with her parents differ significantly from Sadiq’s, and this contrast is portrayed so vividly, allowing readers to appreciate the diversity in parenting styles.
Familial bonds, sibling relationships, friendships, careers, goals, and dreams are at the core of this beautiful story. The themes are interwoven seamlessly, adding depth and richness to the narrative.
My Thoughts on A Little Bit of LoveDespite being a fan of only Non-Fiction and Self-Help Books, I enjoyed reading this romantic fiction. The story is very engaging and the storytelling skills of the author are marvelous. Just pick up this novel today and experience its charm firsthand.

As parents, guardians, and educators, we must equip them with the necessary skills to safeguard themselves against such scams. here are some of the preventive strategies to teach them to spot and avoid these deceptive traps.
1. Educate about Common Scams:Take the time to educate children about various scams they might encounter online. Explain the tactics scammers use, such as deceptive pop-up ads, enticing game offers, and phishing emails impersonating familiar websites or organizations. Use real-life examples to illustrate these scams, making the information relatable and memorable.
2. Encourage Skepticism and Critical Thinking:Encourage children to be skeptical of any offers that seem too good to be true. Teach them to ask questions, verify information, and think critically before clicking on links or sharing personal details. Setting healthy boundaries is really important for self-care as well as for fostering positive relationships. This helps you to define who you are, what you are comfortable with, and what you are not comfortable with. When you have healthy boundaries, you are less likely to be taken advantage of, manipulated, or abused. You are also more likely to feel safe, respected, and fulfilled in your relationships.
What are healthy boundaries?Healthy boundaries can be both physical and emotional. Physical boundaries are limits that you set on your physical space and body. For example, you might have a physical boundary against being touched without your consent. Emotional boundaries are limits that you set on your emotions and how you let others affect you.
