Look at this boy! No, better listen to his play. Do you also like it? He is the best accordionist on YouTube and not only. People say that he is the best in the world.
Because what he is doing is rare: he plays with five fingers on both hands, holding this heavy portable instrument so easily. Accordion, or hand harmonica is one of the most difficult instruments to play, because it is heavy and requires the musician to do many simultaneous things to produce the sound.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Tonight I want to introduce you to Ukrainian musician Serhiy Shamray (Сергій Шамрай). He is from the capital Kyiv, studied at the Ukrainian National Tchaikovsky Academy of Music, and is a frontman of B&B. No … not Bed and Breakfast! In this case, B&B is an abbreviation of “Bandura and Button” (accordion). This group revives almost forgotten Ukrainian folk instruments, like once-popular plucked-string bandura.
Serhiy Shamray has a YouTube channel @ACCORDIONMAN, where you can enjoy many of his performances. Recently he asked his audience for help with just three things: to like his video, comment on it, and watch the video to the end:
“In order for the (YouTube) algorithms to work,” explained Shamray, and then he added, “I will be extremely grateful to you for this help for me.”
You can also book him for corporate or private events, all information is under his video.

Russia has 11 time zones created a few years after the Russian Revolution in 1917.
There is a ten-hour time difference between the European capital Moscow and the far East Asian part of Russia.
After the Russian annexation, Crimea, Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts are forced to use Moscow time (UTC +3), instead of the usual East European time (UTC +2), i.e., 2 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time.
Since October 2014, Russia hasn’t switched to Summer Time, saying that it does not help to save electricity instead, it is harmful to productivity and health.

Shen Yun is in Amsterdam again!
They were already here in February 2020 when I was interviewed during the show by an American based in New York, NTDTV (New Tang Dynasty Television).

Shen Yun is a special group based in the USA, with close to 500 performers. They introduce the world to the diversity of Chinese culture through dancing in traditional costumes from different parts of huge China. This ancient dancing, which many times resembles a stunning acrobatic exercise, is supported by symphonic Chinese music. All of it is not well known outside China.

【NTDCont Beijing time, February 2, 2020】Following Breda, on February 1, Shen Yun touring art troupe came to Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. In addition to being amazed by Shen Yun's flawless performances, the local audience was also grateful to Shen Yun for giving Westerners a taste of Chinese culture.
In 2020, Shen Yun will bring nine performances to three cities in the Netherlands. The show in Rotterdam has already been a hit. The Amsterdam show, on the other hand, was sold out from 3 weeks ago.
Frits Schneider, co-owner of a multinational law firm: "In a word: it's wonderful! The scenes of the performance are dizzying, and the choreography is wonderful, colorful and rhythmic. The host's lines are well connected. In a word: extraordinary performances. ”
Angelika Regossi, TV Producer: "Shen Yun's music, its traditions, all these different regions, all these different nationalities are all combined in this gorgeous show. If it weren't for Shen Yun, these might have been lost, but Shen Yun's director has combined them all into one show, this gorgeous show. ”
Johan Bakker, General Manager of AKF Plastics: "Shen Yun is an eye-opener and gives a glimpse of the artistic standards of today's China. As my girlfriend said, Westerners don't know much about it, and they don't know much about what Chinese art really looks like. Shen Yun is a very good ambassador of Chinese art. ”
Girlfriend Vicky Koelma: "Shen Yun's presentation, like music, is extraordinary because it touches people's hearts and minds, and it brings a special feeling that you can't imagine unless you see it with your own eyes. ”

Budapest street dancing
Look what these boys are doing with their legs … and not only! Imagine meeting them on the streets of Budapest! They make visit to Hungary’s capital even more attractive.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Let me introduce you to Ahmed Moussa and his dancing group Urban Verbunk. Born in Hungary, he absorbed the double culture of his Arab father from Egypt and European mother from Hungary. Ahmed Moussa is the fastest dancer in the world and without any doubt - a Hungarian Perl.
The name of his group “Urban Verbunk” has an interesting meaning. Because “Verbunk” comes from an old Hungarian musical genre, the purpose of which was to recruit Hungarian peasant boys for military service. And “urban”, as you may know, means “belonging to a city or town”. So, can we understand “Urban Verbunk” as a performance in the city for recruiting boys into the army?
Whenever is the meaning, I like the show very much.

Wine for Russian Emperors
This week, on December 10, the world again heard about Hungarian Tokaj wine. Spicy, gold-yellow colour dessert or digestion wine, was delivered even to the Russian imperial table: Emperor Peter the Great and his daughter Empress Elizabeth.
I also shall drink it this festive season: one bottle is already in my home, waiting for the occasion. Did you try Tokaj wine?

If you are in Budapest visit “The House of Terror”.
It is a museum about two dictatorships in Hungary: the Nazis and Communists. The exhibition leaves deep emotions.
What impressed me much were the torture cameras and the so-called “Change room”, where Hungarian Arrow Cross Nazis changed their uniforms into Communist outfits.

JAO was created by Stalin between 1928 and 1934 with the capital Birobijan. The aim was to enforce the border with China, which was often penetrated by the Chinese.
JAO and Israel are the only two Jewish jurisdictions in the world.

To swim or to sit
When Hungarians tell you that they are going to SWIM – don’t believe them. We like to SIT in the swimming pool in winter and summer, all year round. The water in the pool is thermal - pleasantly warm and relaxing. Not only - it also cures, because it contains dissolved minerals.
I also used to go to “swim” sometimes: very early in the morning, at opening hours. When the pools are empty from the crowds and the water is clean after the night’s re-filling.
