Bookmarks! And Tour Info!

Sorry I’ve been MIA, you guys! I’ve been so busy that “busy” doesn’t even touch it.

Plus, I was going to vlog the awesome bookmarks that Vania at Reverie Book Reviews designed for me, but I can’t find my video upload cable! Figures, right?

I guess you’ll just have to settle for pics. Check out these beauties (and thanks to Rebekah for spending hours stringing them with ribbon!). They are stunning – oversize and glossy and really different in a GOOD way, something you can’t really appreciate with m

And the Winner Is…

Devyn Burton!!!!

Gasp! Who would have thought!

*that was sarcasm*

Congratulations to Devyn who will now get the much-coveted “I’d Trade My Boyfriend for a SuperHero” tee. As I was tabulating the number of entries, I realized that Devyn’s represented a fifth of them. I actually thought someone might think it was rigged if he DIDN’T win. Ha!

For those of you who didn’t win – don’t despair! I’ll be announcing another contest in less than two weeks with an equally impressive swag bag as the prize PLUS s

Trailer Awesomeness!!!

I’m almost afraid to type anything before I post this video, because anything I say will only serve to dilute it’s amazingness.

So let me just say this, Vania of Reverie Book Reviews is overflowing with talent. A couple of months ago, she offered to make a book trailer for Prophecy of the Sisters. She had just finished reading it and said it inspired her, which was compliment enough. But now… well, now that I see the finished product I’m pretty much speechless, both because of Vania’s generosity

Aw, shucks!

I don’t know if you’ve noticed (*ahem*), but I don’t usually post links to my reviews, even the good ones.

I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because my release date has seemed so far away that I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested, but as the date gets closer (eeep!), I’ve started seeing more reviews out there about Prophecy.

I won’t lie. The hard ones are, well… hard. My work is so personal to me and I put so much into it that it’s really tough to hear that it just didn’t connect with someone.

Eight Little Things

1. Our Team, Rock the Cure, dominated Relay for Life this year, taking the 1st place trophy in the Team Pedometer Challenge!

2. I am exhausted.

3. We don’t know how much money we raised yet, but once the totals come in, I’ll let you all know.

4. I did not sleep. At all.

5. I took all kinds of crazy Relay video which I will eventually post (minus the more, er, questionable entries into our “Would You Rather” game). The edit functions are my friend.

6. I used to be able to go a couple of nights with

Authors + Donated Books = LOVE!

This will be a quick entry because we are, as I type, frantically packing for our annual Relay for Life.

Relay for Life is an all-night walk and camp-out sponsored by the American Cancer Society in towns across the US to raise funds for cancer research and prevention. Each year, I chaperone an all-teen team and we camp out in the park, raise a little (harmless) havoc, and raise money for the ACS.

We do a lot of things to raise money – provide face-painting and temporary tattoos at the event, sell

A Peek at my Life

Would you like one?

It’s not very different from yours, really. I spend most of my time running kids (mine and others) to baseball, track, school events, and birthday parties. We love music and concerts and movies (ice cream and Saturday night movies at home have been a tradition for years) and Scrabble and Taboo.

But the thing that matters most to us each other. We spend the majority of our time together. Believe it or not, even my teens seem to prefer hanging out at home with me and each other a

BEA Vlog

I know what you’re thinking; Uh, BEA was almost TWO WEEKS ago, Michelle!

To which I’m just gonna say, “I KNOW right?!”

But we’re kinda new to the vlogging thing, so it took us a while – and a telephone walk-through with Vania at Reverie Book Reviews – to figure out how to get everything uploaded.

It’s still a little.. raw. But hey! We’re still figuring it out.

Oh, and sorry for those sideways shots of posters for Jessica Verday’s The Hollow and Sarah Maclean’s The Season.

Let’s just call it art and l

Eyes Like Stars Giveaway

ELS Cover

Before we do anything else, let’s just take a moment to admire the utter gorgeousness that is this cover…

Okay, nope. Wait. Let’s look some more…

Alrighty then. And seriously. Isn’t this one of the MOST stunning covers you’ve ever seen?

Anyway, you’re going to hear a lot about Eyes Like Stars (July 2009) in the next few weeks, because Lisa’s a friend of mine, this book has been eagerly anticipated for quite some time, and frankly, it’s just a fantastic book. I honestly feel it’s my literary duty to

Cluelessness at Its Best

I promised you a good BEA story, right?

Well, I never renege on a promise, so here goes…

As you all know, I was at BEA on Sunday for my signing, feeling really grateful that we had a long and steady line on the last and slowest day of the conference. If you’ve ever attended one of my signings, you know that I like to make personal contact with each and every person, even though it makes the line move just a tad slower. I make a point of asking for the person’s name, even if I’m signing the book fo
