Do you delegate and outsource?

Do you delegate and outsource? Years ago in an online training class for writers, the instructor gave me and the other students some advice that I felt was very bad, specifically for me: try to do everything yourself in your business to save money. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Over the years as a small business owner […]

Insomnia, new website theme, blog post’s background

It’s 4:17 a.m. I have insomnia (again). You know that you’re up early when you see the city garbage truck driving by outside. When I’ve struggled with insomnia, I’ve tried all the things that are supposed to help you sleep: all the lights are out and thick, black-out curtains are hung up above the windows […]

Test blog post with new background color

I’m testing this blog post with a new background color and new text color. I created a new template for a blog post. Seeing if this will work or not to create a white background and a black text color and if it shows up under the heading “Blog” at the top of the website […]

Like night and day! New website theme.

You may have noticed that the home page of my website www.BethJones.net looks different. That’s because I changed the theme. (Yes, again! It’s fun!) I had a Zoom meeting with my virtual assistant this week, and she quickly looked at my website at the end of the call and gave me some creative tips for […]

National Doughnut Day, new podcast up with Elizabeth Lundeen, & “Just Ask” letters

Today is National Doughnut Day. You can get a free doughnut with a coffee or a drink at many places.  I got my chocolate frosted doughnut at Dunkin, with a hot latte with cream. What is your favorite doughnut shop? This day was started in 1938 by the Salvation Army in Chicago to honor those of their members who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War I. From Wikipedia: Soon after the entrance of the United States into WWI in 1917, the Salvation Army sent a fact-finding mission to France. T...

My Michigan trip, Part 4 – Southwest Airlines’ flights

This is my Michigan trip blog series, part 4 – Southwest Airlines’ flights. You can read part 1 (God has surprises in store) by clicking here; part 2 (the beautiful RV) here; part 3 (the Encounter ministry weekend) here. I love flying on planes. It never ceases to amaze me when the plane is taking off so fast, how man has created something that flies in the air over the clouds, inspired by God creating the birds. Yes, I love traveling, period. It is so fun (usually!) and makes me so happy, visit...

My Michigan trip, part 3 – Encounter ministry weekend

This is part 3 of my Michigan trip blog series, about the Encounter ministry time. Recently I traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan to visit my friends Herb and Diane Bishop and for the Encounter ministry weekend. You can read part 1 about the tulips and Lake Michigan here and part 2 about the beautiful RV where I stayed here. I’d heard before about the Encounter ministry but had never been to one before. Herb recently went and wanted his wife Diane and their ministry Board of Directors to attend, ...

Michigan trip, the beautiful RV (Part 2)

Recently I traveled to Grand Rapids, Michigan to visit my friends Herb and Diane Bishop, who live there and to attend an Encounter ministry weekend. When I arrived, they took me to Holland, Michigan to see gorgeous tulips and Lake Michigan, which is like the oceans in Florida, except it has no salt. You can read the blog post and see the pics of that here. This is part 2 of my Michigan blog post series, about Herb’s and Diane’s beautiful RV, where I stayed for free when I went there. It was like...

God has surprises in store for you and me

Did you know that God has wonderful surprises in store for you and me?  Although I wanted to visit my friends Herb and Diane Bishop in Michigan, traveling there wasn’t on my radar this year. But they invited me there to visit them and to attend an Encounter ministry weekend. Herb had just been to the men’s Encounter, and wanted his wife Diane and their ministry Board of Directors to experience it, too, because he thought it was amazing. (I’m on their Board of Directors.) So with God’s blessing ...

How do we draw closer to God during Holy Week?

Holy Week is an important time to reflect, pray and fast, and repent of any sins for forgiveness, so that we may draw closer to God.
