Smoking Problem in Senior Housing
At one point in my life, when I was young and foolish, I thought it was funny when someone told me that they were “allergic to smoke.” It seemed like such an odd thing to be allergic to, I really thought they were pulling my leg. Well, Karma has a great way of equalizing life by showing you instead of telling you.
When I quit smoking at 30, I developed asthma as my lungs were trying to rid themselves of the tar and nicotine I’d built up over the 15 years I smoked. I had substantial damage t...

Night Watchman’s Cabin is here
My new release, Night Watchman’s Cabin, is ready on Amazon in eBook or Paperback!
The story is a paranormal romance and mystery starting in the early 1900’s. It’s based on a dream I had one night when a man named Jacob showed up and told me he was the night watchman of the Isadora hotel. I was so fascinated by him that I wrote what I could remember in a dream journal the next day, promising myself I would write his story. It was published as a Kindle Vella story a couple of years ago, and wh...

Asthma and Guaifenesin Caution
This is not a medical information post, it is simply a cautionary tale of my personal experience that I felt compelled to share. My lesson learned may help someone else avoid the same mistake.
Around June 5th I got Covid. Let me be honest, I haven’t had a vaccination since 2023 and felt pretty bullet proof with my built-up immunities and hand washing practices. The morning I woke up with the ‘razor blade throat’, headache and fever, I was in disbelief that I had Covid, again. This time it wa...

Thank God for Good People!
I had a lot on my mind on the morning I recently went shopping at Aldi’s.
A doctor’s appointment later in the afternoon, and a few projects I needed to work on when I got home, made time crucial that day. I put my pocketbook in the child seat, like always, putting the plastic seat up. After scooting through the aisles with my grocery list, I checked out, loaded up the car, and returned my carriage to the corral beside the building.
But I left the carriage outside the linked-up ones, leav...

This Old Person’s Solution to Hearing the TV
Having spent the past 20 years or so struggling to hear the conversations on my television shows, I am now blissfully able to hear everything they say! No more turning on the captions, those don’t work when I’m trying to crochet while watching TV. I end up missing everything! I no longer have to rewind (sometimes multiple times!) when there was too much background noise on the show or in my apartment. Living near the main road can be quite a challenge to someone my age who is hard of hearing but...

New Venture With Poetry
Hi everyone! Just wanted to share with you my newest adventure with the written word. Recently, I was told about a new AI website called Suno.com, and loving new challenges, I just had to go take a look. I uploaded a poem that I wrote about my youngest son when he was a baby and ‘tried out’ different voices, tones, and genres to see which one would be best suited to the poem. It was a blast putting it together, especially since it was his birthday the night I made it public and sent him the link...
