Interview

I was fortunate enough to do an interview with a delightful young lady who just graduated high school and has been accepted to a very prestigious college in the fall. She has her own website called http://7billionwords.com/ where she has book reviews, interviews, a blog, and a take action page that is remarkable! Her site is amazing, and she brings it all to us from the young adult perspective.

Thank you, Jenna, for asking such thought-provoking questions! You have wisdom and maturity beyond...

Happy Father’s Day

It seems only fitting to add my wish for all fathers on their day, even if I am a little late in getting it posted.

But, I want to make sure that this post is recognized for what it is: a recognition of the men who are good fathers, who have loved and cared for their children, or who have loved and cared for another man’s children as if they were his own. It takes a special kind of man to walk into a family and care for children that aren’t biologically his. Stepfathers are under appreciated,...

Kindle Vella Series

I have taken the leap into the world of Kindle Vella! I now have two series that will premiere on Vella when it launches live to readers mid July. Each series has at least 7 episodes already loaded. I hope to add another one before July!

First, I entered Our Family’s Spirits, a collection of stories about our family penchant for meeting up with spirits from another realm. Maybe our Gaelic heritage has a little to do with our willingness to accept these strange situations, but we’ve had quit...

My Inspiration

Every now and then we all need something that will inspire us to do our best and pursue our dreams in a real way. I came across this picture in a gift shop one day while I was just browsing, not expecting to go home with anything in particular. When I read the words it hit me that in sixty plus years of living, I had so many stories I wanted to tell, but how many years left to tell them?

Then when the Covid pandemic hit, I felt the pressure to stop sleepwalking through my retirement and put t...

The Road We Travel

Last week reminded me that we are all just visitors passing through this earthly world, and I found myself reflecting on the road we travel in life and the nature of friendship. After our family, the most important humans we encounter in life are our friends, the people we choose to share orbits with from childhood on. We pick our friends based on differences as much as similarities, because we round each other out and add a yin to each other’s yang. Friends share souls.

So many friends come ...

Memorial Day Reflection

To all who served in protecting freedom, thank you for your courage and commitment to your country. For those families who lost a loved one in the service of their country, nobody can understand what you have dealt with unless they have walked in the same shoes. You are in our thoughts and prayers, as well.

Remembering all our loved ones who have gone on before us to the next stage of existence, whatever you believe that to look like, they will always remain alive in our hearts and memories....

My book cover was chosen for animation on Twitter.

Suzanne, a Motion Artist on Twitter, ran an ad saying that she chooses a book every Sunday in May to offer free book cover animation. Well, last Sunday she chose mine! I absolutely love it! What a wonderful gift to offer writers, and I can see why it is a great advertising tool. She was very professional throughout the process, involving me in the decisions and allowing me to choose my favorite for the Twitter file. Amazing work, wonderful artist! If you have a book cover that you want to bring ...

Gramma’s Chopped Salad

There was a lovely inn in Western Massachusetts, very close to where I once lived in Ashley Falls. The owner used to buy tomatoes from us and used them in the chopped salad she sometimes served at dinner. My chopped salad is a take on her wonderful dish, so easy and yet so tasty, perfect for a hot summer night.

My ingredients can change depending on what I feel like when I’m making it but the tomatoes, avocados, and cheese have to be included in mine! I have used beets, onions, various kinds...
