More Episodes Added Tonight
I just added three more episodes to Her Alien Children on Kindle Vella tonight, bringing the total to 16. My goal is to wrap up the series with episode 20, so we are getting close to finding out who keeps taking Bella captive, and why.

Air Fryer Apple Pie Balls
I was looking for things I could cook in my new Air Fryer, and stumbled upon the most delightful apple pie dessert I’ve had in a long time! The original recipe that I based mine on was from Amanda Rettke-iambaker.net. I used the Shaw’s Signature store-brand apple pie filling which wasn’t too sweet. In fact, it was more like home-made. I don’t always follow recipes closely, tending to adjust and adapt them to my own specific tastes.
When I served this dessert at a friends cookout it was a hug...

Sincerest Thank you!
Thank you to anyone who has read my stories Her Alien Children and/or Our Family’s Spirits! I was so surprised when Her Alien Children made it to the Top Faved list today, which means that some readers out there liked it enough to mark it as a Fave, and I am very grateful for your vote of confidence!
The fun part about being on a site like Vella is going to the list to see if anyone I know is on it, and today I got a great surprise. Her Alien Children was #219 out of 250, which was very exc...

Vella Demystified
For anyone who is curious about Kindle Vella, here is some information that may lead you to a fun discovery. Vella is a new way of story telling and reading on Kindle, where the authors write stories in a serial format. We upload our episodes (the same thing as chapters in a print or ebook) to Vella to publish. Some authors have uploaded their entire books, others plan to release their episodes on a schedule.
You have to have an Amazon account in order to read Vella stories, which are priced...

Perspective
I found a great quote from Mark Twain that speaks to me about perspective, that I put into the picture below. How we see the world around us, may be different from the others who share the same space, thanks to individual perspective. We remember our childhoods differently than our parents or our siblings, even though we all lived in the same house at some point. We have memories of our children’s childhoods that they may not recall, certainly not in the same light that we might. You might not e...

Reaching Kindle Vella on Amazon
It seems like the Vella roll-out was a little bit quirky, at least for me. I found it a bit unclear with no directions on how to direct our readers to the Kindle Vella Store to find our stories, but I think it’s all good now. I’ve tested out a couple of links, copied them to my trusty Amazon advertising folder and put one on my ad that will be running in Facebook.
As with anything new, there will be quirks and uneven patches of ground to cover, but I think these will smooth out rather quickl...

Vella is Live!
Kindle Vella is now available to readers! You can read the first three episodes of any Series for free. My Family’s Spirits first three episodes are a complete story within that series, so that no one is left hanging at the end.
At the end of each episode you can give it a “thumbs up” or mark it as a “fave”. You can also give a review on the series, as well. I hope you enjoy reading these stories, I am having fun writing them!

Don’t you just love Mark Twain?
I love his quotes, because he speaks to us as though he knows we are aware of our human imperfections and are doing our best to survive them. We know our own failings as well as our successes. Some that are generic to the human race are comical when you take a wide angle lens to them. Our human nature limits us because not one of us is perfection in any sense of the word, we are all just moving along day to day, trying to do our best to survive.
Mark Twain recognizes the human condition for w...
