Episode #5 is Live in The Contract Keeper

The Kindle Vella series, The Contract Keeper, has a new episode. Sweet little Tommie is remembering her life as crusty old Tom and things are not going so well for either of them. Besides that, her parents are starting to wonder who their child is, when she starts Speaking of Tom.

Don’t forget – the first three episodes of any Vella Series are #Free!

When Babies Grow Up

You bring them into the world helpless, wiggly, and hungry. They depend on you for their very existence. They need nourishment to sustain them, protection from harm, warm hugs to remind them they are safe and loved, and guidance on how to be a good human. You have them all to yourself for the first few years, if you are able to stay home with them. Otherwise, you share them with whoever cares for them in your absence.

In the blink of an eye they are ready for school, and a yellow bus appears...

Graduation Ahead

I spent the afternoon cleaning up the pages on this website, and since WordPress made changes to the format it was a little trickier and more time consuming than I planned. But, it’s all good in the end because I think it’s getting there. I’m not a world class web designer, so keep your expectations low! Lol.

With Mother’s Day and Memorial Day behind us, Father’s Day is straight ahead. But, before we get there many of us have graduations to attend, first. This surely is a time for reflection ...

A Butterfly In My House

Our new children’s picture book, A Butterfly In My House, has arrived!

Back in the 1990’s, my friend Jane and I talked about what fun we would have writing a book together. I would write and she would illustrate. Well, after a few years of life and raising kids, we did it! This book is our first collaboration on a children’s picture book, and it’s birthday was yesterday. Happy Birthday Butterfly!

The story is simple – an impish butterfly invades a family’s home while they are having a gray...

Best Baked Turkey Meatballs

I love meatballs, but the Doc says I should be eating more turkey instead of beef. So, in my laziness, I have been buying pre-cooked frozen meatballs and throwing out half of them because they are so rubbery and tasteless. Then one day I went to an event where they had real home-made meatballs, the juicy, tender beef version. I was in heaven and swore off the packaged ones from that point forward.

Later that night, I searched the internet high and low to find some ideas for better tasting, te...

Running the Race

Recently I was sitting at a four-way light, looking at the people in the other lanes, all of us waiting for our signal to proceed. My vehicle pointed North towards home. It was a sunny but cool afternoon, as we’re getting glimpses of warmth here in the Northeast. It is still March, after all.

While I sat watching the other cars, I noticed the humans in them. It occurred to me that for the 52 years I’ve been driving, I always saw the cars on the road, but not the people inside them. That day I...

Welcome 2022!

I’m not going to pontificate about the New Year and how much it means to us to turn the corner from a very tough year. Nope. Not going to do that. I’m also not going to ruminate aloud about the emotions that we weathered as a country, world, or simply as human beings. Enough people have that covered, you don’t need my advice on what we’ve survived. I also can’t, and won’t, go down the path of all the people we’ve lost in our lives, because 2021 was particularly brutal in that regard for many of ...
