October 2023 Update~

Dear Readers,

As we head toward Halloween, so many things have been going on! I’ve got a book about to release (Bonding Over The Amish Baby, Oct 24th!!), a book in production (Texas Amish Brides #3 – Amity – title to be announced) and one in proposal that I’m getting ready to send to my editor (Texas Amish Brides #4 – Florene).

One part of production that I absolutely love is turning in my Art Facts Sheet. This gives the art department at Harlequin an idea who your characters are and what they look like.  Since I just turned in the AFS for Amity’s book, I wanted to share the images I turned over for my hero and heroine. I absolutely can’t wait to see the final result, and I can’t wait to share it with readers.

Meanwhile, I wanted to share a bit of Amity’s story. I can only describe it as an Amish version of “You’ve Got Mail” and “The Little Shop Around The Corner” … but with a twist I won’t tell you about just yet.  Here is my working synopsis, but not the official one for the book.

Amity Schroder and Ethan Zehr both have shops in the same building. Constantly at odds, the stern Amish widower and the sprightly spinster disagree on almost everything. The daily aggravation Amity feels is tempered by the fact she has a new pen pal. She doesn’t know his true identity, but she dreams of someday meeting her sensitive, caring friend.

Attracted to Amity and unable to fight his curiosity, Ethan wonders who his rival for her affection is. Moving his family to a new home, he accidentally uncovers a secret. Determined to find him a wife, his daughter has been corresponding with a woman on his behalf. The letters reveal a stunning truth: Ethan and Amity are, unknowingly, each other’s anonymous pen pals!

Rebuffed once before, Ethan realizes he has a second chance to court the woman who has captured his heart. Arranging to meet, all he has to do is convince Amity he’s the man she’s fallen in love with through the mail…

So there you have it…

Meanwhile, I need to get back to Florene’s book. The poor girl’s been dumped in the middle of a blizzard and is fighting for her life (hint: if you want to know what’s happening with Florene, read Bonding Over The Amish Baby…)

Take care and happy reading!

Pamela

September 2023 Update

Dear Readers,

You’re right. I’m late posting this month. But I do have a good excuse, and can now explain. As you all know, I turned over Amity’s book (Texas Amish Brides #3) at the beginning of August. I’ve been anxiously waiting to hear what my editor thought about the book. I can now share the answer: the manuscript has been accepted and is heading toward the production que. I don’t have a final title or release date, but that info should be coming soon. I’ll share deets as soon as I have them.

So here’s where things stand. There’s book coming out soon — Bonding Over the Amish Baby, 10.24.23 — a book heading toward production and another heading to proposal. Truly, it’s been busy times! I’m working on Florene’s book now, and will be turning it in around the first of November. Fingers crossed my editor likes it.

So happy to share the good news with you all. Stayed turned for more.

Happy reading!

Pam

August 2023 Update

Dear Readers,

Wow! Where has the time gone? It’s hard to believe, but when I turned over the proposal for the 3rd Texas Amish Brides book back in March, I had no idea the summer months would fly by so fast. Here we are in August and I’m happy to share that Her Secret Amish Sweetheart (title tentative) is done. I finished the book, ahead of schedule. Sometimes a manuscript writes itself, and this one did. Ethan and Amity’s story is fun, an Amish version of The Shop Around The Corner.  They are just two people who can’ t seem to realize they really do like each other.  They argue and pick at each other, but in the end true love wins.

Here’s a peek at the synopsis I wrote. It’s not the official one, but that will come later.

I’ll be sending the file off to my editor this week. I can’t wait to find out what she thinks!

Meanwhile, I’m off to work on Florene’s book. This will be #4 is the Texas Amish Brides series.  After that, Sheriff Evan Miller’s book will be next. That’s also a story I can’t wait to jump into.

Enjoy the rest of your summer. I’ll be back with more updates as they happen.

Cheers,

Pam
