A heartwarming story that follows the journey of Florene Schroder, a young Amish woman seeking solace and a fresh start after fleeing an abusive relationship in the Englisch world. In the peaceful Amish community of Burr Oak, Texas, Florene hopes to find the refuge she so desperately needs, but her path is far from straightforward.

August ’24 Newsletter
Can you believe it’s already August? This month is named after Augustus Caesar, the first Roman emperor. And here’s a fun fact: August was originally named Sextilis because it was the sixth month of the Roman calendar. It wasn’t until 8 B.C. that it was renamed in honor of Augustus.
I’m thrilled to share that I’m deep into the copy edits for my 4th Texas Amish Brides book, titled Her Amish Refuge. It’s hard to believe that this book will be out in May 2025! It will be my 5th Love Inspired release, my first big milestone with Harlequin!
In Her Amish Refuge, I’ve taken inspiration from the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast, reimagining it with an Amish twist. The premise: Florene Schroder is a woman searching for a way to return to her home and Amish faith. Gilead Kestler is a man who believes he isn’t worthy of a family of his own. Together, they will try to overcome the doubts and fears holding them back…and discover true love can mend broken hearts.
I can’t wait for you all to meet these characters and immerse yourselves in their journey of love and redemption!

Dear Readers,
Happy July! A lot has been going on at Casa Pam. Some of it has been annoying (clogged sink!) but the rest of it has been pretty good, so let’s get to it…
My editor has accepted Florene’s book and it has an official title and release date. Her Amish Refuge will come out May 2025. I’m excited about this one. Not only is it a play on Beauty & the Beast, it will bring the Schroder sisters series to a close. However, it’s not the end of the Texas Amish Brides books. Coming up next is the first spin off featuring secondary side characters who have appeared through the series. Yes, Sheriff Evan Miller is coming up next, and I am about to turn over the proposal to my editor. Fingers crossed she likes it. And Mary Reese and Benjamin’s story is also in the works… In fact, Florene’s book touches a little more on Mary’s story as Florene and Gil head over in a blizzard to help Mary’s dad out of a bind. I’ll fill you all in as details happen.
Meanwhile, can you believe it’s coming up to the release of Amity’s book (TAB #3)? Yes, Her Surprise Amish Match will be exclusively on sale through the Harlequin website on August 1, 2024. It will go wide on August 20th, and I can’t wait for readers to get their hands on my Amish version of “You’ve Got Mail”. One of the things I love doing is taking popular tropes and turning them into Amish stories to create something entirely new. Can’t wait to hear what you think of the book, so don’t hesitate to leave a review or shoot me an email letting me know your thoughts.

June 2024 Newsletter
Dear Readers,
June is here and a lot of exciting things are happening behind the scenes. Not only did I send the 4th Texas Amish Brides book off to my editor, I’ve started the 5th, which is Sheriff Evan Miller’s book. I’ve always tried to give Miller a scene or two in each of the Schroder sisters books, and now the lawman will finally get a book of his own! Right now, it’s under the working title of The Sheriff’s Amish Promise. The outline and chapter 1 are written. I’ve got until July 1 to get the complete proposal done, so wish me luck!
As excited as I am about starting Miller’s book, I think I’ll back up to book 4 and give readers an exclusive 1st page peek at Protecting Her Amish Heart (title tentative).
The first 3 books have set up Florene’s story arc, and this book will bring her journey to a close. I think readers will be surprised to see the direction God sends her in!
(PS: Keep in mind this is the author’s version and may change once the book goes into production.)
Here’s a bit about the book.
Caught in a blizzard’s fury, Florene Schroder finds herself abandoned on a desolate highway. Pregnant and alone, she is desperate to find shelter. With the relentless snowstorm swallowing her hope, she stumbles on an unexpected sanctuary — an Amish farm.
Her rescuer is Gilead Kestler. A giant of a man, Gil is haunted by feelings of inadequacy. Rugged as the wild horses he works to tame, he believes he is unworthy of love.
Two wounded spirits brought together by fate, their paths converge in a world where lies and betrayal reign. Will they find a way to conquer their fears? Or will secrets on both sides drive a wedge into their blossoming relationship?
