Daily Meditations of a Nurse Warrior
What does prayer reveal?
Prayer is not a weakness, but a strength; and revealing prayers power was when Jehoshaphat, a highly experienced and renowned leader, "resolved to inquire of the LORD" (2 Chronicles 20:3), by humbly praying that "we will cry out to you in our distress, and you will hear us and save us" (20:9); along with asking for guidance in that "we do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you" (20:12). In doing so, God provided Jehoshaphat with what he needed to get through another attack on his nation (see 20:15-17, 22). So, might you humbly consider seeking help, through prayer, from someone who can help and guide you through every walk of life. #PrayersPowerfulPresence

How can your tent remain youthful?
"While [you] are in this tent, [you will] groan and [be] burdened" (2 Corinthians 5:4), as your strong but fragile existence will begin to slow down and surrender to time and age (see Ecclesiastes 12:1-7). Even so, your heart, mind and soul does not have to. For, if "[you] do not lose heart" (2 Corinthians 4:16), there is "an eternal house in heaven" (5:1) waiting for you. #YoungAtHeart

What makes you happy?
Many believe that their happiness comes from stature, money and tangibles. When in fact, they do not. For having such things may create more unhappiness than happiness. But, what can provide you with a "rich and satisfying life" (John 10:10 NLT) is "[knowing Him], the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom [God] has sent" (17:3). So, if you really want to live a happy and fulfilling life, might you look to someone who can provide you with just that. #EternalBliss

How hopeful are you? & What hope can you share or offer?
Being hopeful is what makes the impossible possible; and having this mindset allows you to "always be prepared to give an answer...for the hope that you have" (1 Peter 3:15). For when you "suffer for what is right", and are able to share it with others, "you are blessed" (3:14). #Cultivating #Spreading & #PlantingHope

How do you handle or avoid gossip?
Gossip is like wildfire; once started, it is hard to put out. Noting gossips hurtful and destructive nature is King Solomon. He wrote: "The words of a gossip are like choice morsels; they go down to the inmost parts" (Proverbs 18:8). So, when the gossip begins, might you either remove yourself from the wildfire or distinguish it. #SpreadTheTruth

Whom do you trust?
Those that make promises and keep their word are rare gifts; and one of those rare and overlooked gifts is Him and His Word. For "the Lord is trustworthy, in all he promises" (Psalm 145:13). So, might you put your trust in some one who is always true to their word and will never let you down. #AManOfHisWord

Why laugh?
There is much, in life, to laugh at, even if it is at ourselves. Finding humor, at 90, was Sarah, as she was promised a son, Isaac aka laughter, who would be her own flesh and blood (see Genesis 15:4); and in her joy, she proclaimed that God had brought her laughter and everyone who would hear about this would laugh with her (see 21:6). So, whether it be to lighten the load, ease the mind or soothe the soul, might you try it on for size and as often as you can. #HumorYourself & #Laugh

What weeds need pulled?
Weeds have a tendency to come up, come back and spread; and when we do not tend to them, they continue to grow, get out of control and linger. So, in order to rid yourself of them, might you "walk by the Spirit", as to "not gratify the desires of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16). For when you do, you will be fruitful in "love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control" (5:22-23) and able to keep the weeds at bay. #WeedsBeGone

ANW Product: Multi-colored blue and green bandanas, linen, cross-stitch hand towels and cotton clothing material rag tied, along with satin ribbon and a ceramic ornament turned in to a beach, "Sand & Surf Seasons Greetings" wreath. All items recycled/upcycled, repurposed and renewed.

How strong is your foundation?
Rejected, then and now, He still remains the cornerstone of everything (see John 1:11); and without a strong foundation, you will always find yourself on shaky and rocky ground. But, if stability is what you seek, then, might you pray and ask Him to save and grant you success (see Psalm 118:25). For when you do so, He will bless you (see 118:26). May the stone the builders rejected become the cornerstone of your life (see 118:22). #Accept #Rebuild & #GiveThanks

What tempts you?
Temptation lurks around every corner. Some may give in and some may not. Giving in was Augustine, who struggled with immorality and redemption, until he was inspired by believers and motivated by His words: "Let us behave decently...not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality...Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh" (Romans 13:13-14). So, whatever may tempt you, may others or His Words inspire and help you, as well, to refrain or think twice before you act. #ResistTheUrge
