Why consume yourself with the eye test?
So much of what people do is measured by an eye test, except by The One, who, instead, "looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7). After placing "a handsome young man" (9:2), in a powerful position, the Lord, quickly sought another, due to his dishonorable character, and looked, this time, from within. So, whatever your appearance, might you remember that it takes more than just "outward appearance[s]" (16:7) to be successful. #LooksAreDeceiving

Daily Meditations of A Nurse Warrior
How do you handle the ambiguous?
There will be things that happen, along your journey, that you will have a hard time understanding or not be able to understand at all. Finding herself in such a place was Esther, as she had went from having no parents (see Esther 4:7), taken in by Mordecai (see 4:7), placed in a "harem" (4:9) and made "queen" (4:17), all to save her people from being destroyed (see 4:4-8). So, the challenges that are placed in front of you are for good reason, and if you trust in His plan, everything will play out as it should; and you will, eventually, understand why. "From him and through him and to him are all things" (11:36). #EmbraceIt & #RemainFaithful

How well do you respond when someone confronts you?
Often, Defense Mode quickly sets in, when confronted; and when this happens, little to nothing gets accomplished except causing more heightened emotions and hurt feelings. Helping you to avoid going on the defense is James. James, instead, urges you to "be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry" (1:19). So, the next time you are confronted, might you consider asking the Lord to give you the wisdom to not react. For "a person's wisdom yields patience; [and] it is to one's glory to overlook an offense. [And] "sensible people control their temper; [and] they earn respect by overlooking wrongs" (Proverbs 19:11). #HaveGoodSense & #LetItGo

How can you beautify what is broken?
Remnants of rubbish are scattered everywhere; but they can be taken and turned in to something beautiful. Sharing a solution to the world's litter problem is God, through Micah. He offers, instead of war, that "swords" and "spears" can be turned in to "plowshares" and "pruning hooks" (Micah 4:3). So, if you want to remove the debris, might you consider finding ways, like Micah, to turn the trash in to treasure. #CleanItUp & #Restore #Recycle & #RenewIt

What do you focus on?
The wrong focus can take you in a direction that leads to no where. Focusing on the wrong things were "seventy-two" (Luke 10:1) people who came back telling the Lord that "even the demons submit to [them] in your name” (10:17), instead of "[rejoicing] that [their] names are written in heaven" (10:20). So, as you determine your focus, might you consider being mindful of what achievements or accomplishments are worthy of rejoicing, because if your name is not written above, it may not be worth your time or attention. #FocusOnWhatReallyMatters

Why fear love?
If you fear love, you will never know what it is, "because fear has to do with punishment"; and "the one who fears is not made perfect in love" (1 John 4:18). But, when you surrender your fears, you will know what love truly is, because "there is no fear in love" (4:18). For "perfect love drives out fear" (4:18). So, might you let someone who can show you how to love, because He "is love" (4:10). #FearNot

How often are your cries heard?
Many cries go either unheard or are ignored. Heard, every time, were the Israelites, as they would ask The Lord to turn to [them] and "have mercy upon" them for they were "desolate and afflicted" (Psalm 25:16). So, if or when you cry, just like His "firstborn" (Exodus 4:22), might you consider crying out to Him, because whatever it is He will always hear you and answer everyone of them. #AShoulderToCryOn

What alerts you to danger?
There is cause to have a heightened sense of awareness in all that you do, as danger lurks in even the most unlikely places. In order to help you to be able to identify danger is through His Word, as He warns you to "watch out for false prophets", as "they come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves" (Matthew 7:15). And, it is "by their fruit you will recognize them...[for] every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit" (15:16-17, 20). So, might you consider allowing Him to teach you to be "prudent" so that you can "see danger" and "take refuge" when need be (Proverbs 22:3). #ArmYourselfWell

What are your service expectations?
Those that serve, serve selflessly and without the need to be recognized for what they do. Such individuals reflect Christ-like behavior, as they, like He, "did/[do] not come to be served, but to serve" (Mark 10:25). Before Christ's crucifixion, He humbly washed His disciples dirty feet (see John 13:14-15), "[setting] an example that you should do as [He has] done for you" (13:15). So, as you consider serving, might it be that you do so joyfully and without any expectation. #NeverTooGood & #RemainUnderTheRadar

What influences your decisions?
In order to make favorable choices to decisions that you will make is to have the wisdom to be able to do so. Joshua was that influence for the Israelites as they had a big decision to make. With his wisdom, he offered them to “fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness" and "throw away the gods [that their] ancestors worshiped” (Joshua 24:14); but, “if serving the Lord [seemed] undesirable to [them], then [to] choose for [themselves that] day whom [they would] serve . . . . But as for [him] and [his] household, [they would] serve the Lord” (24:15). So, as you consider every decision that you make, might they all include His guidance and wisdom. #MakeWiseOnes
