What can age teach you?

With age comes wisdom, priorities and patience. Getting to experience such things were Simeon (see Luke 2:28-31) and Anna, a "very old" prophet (2:36). These two elders waited, for many years, to see the Messiah, and when they did, both praised God (see 2:28-31 & 2:37-38). If you are as fortunate as Simeon and Anna, may you too take in all that you can from your elders, and one day, if given the privilege, be able to pay it forward. #Appreciating & #EmbracingAgeAndYourElders

How willing are you to ask for help?

Every one needs help, now and then, even those who are independent; and when you do, just pray by asking Him to "give [you] today [your] daily bread" (Matthew 6:11). For this bread will provide you with what you need. So, might you consider becoming dependent on Him for your daily bread. #AskForHelp & #TakeSomethingOffYourPlate

What keeps you working and striving to become?

It is not easy seeing those who receive recognition, especially when they have not earned it. In "whatever you do, work at it with all your heart," because when "working for the Lord" (Colossians 3:23) you focus on what is right and good and are noticed, appreciated and valued. #KeepOnKeepingOn

What keeps you from becoming doubtful and discouraged?

When you begin to question yourself and your abilities, you have a tendency to think the worst, begin to doubt yourself and become discouraged; and in order to avoid such thoughts, you are warned to "not harden your [heart]" (Hebrews 3:7) and not let your heart go astray (see 3:10), while in "the wilderness" (3:8), but to "encourage one another daily" (3:13). May you be encouraged today and every day. #ShareTheLoad & #PickEachOtherUp

What can light offer you?

He sees your pain, grief and struggles, just as he has "seen the misery of [his] people in Egypt" (Exodus 3:7); and because of this, He "[came] down to rescue them" (3:8). And, for you, He sent his son, the Light. So, as you see the many glowing lights, especially at this time of the year, may you think of Him. For without His sacrifice, the world would be a very dark place. #ALightToBehold

What really matters?

If you think it is your job, career and/or accomplishments, you might reconsider. What does and always matters is the kind of person you are. When you "set an example for believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity" (1 Timothy 4:12), you reflect what matters most, yourself. So, as you consider and evaluate your personal inventory, might you strive to be the kind of person that everyone wants to know and be around, even remembered. #CharacterIsEverything

How can you handle conflict?

There always seems to be a battle or struggle going on, even when there shouldn't be; and when this happens, you and I are reminded that when conflict occurs "a gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger" (Proverbs 15:1). As conflicts arise, and if you choose to battle, may your words always be a "tree of life", "soothing" and "wise" and a spring of "knowledge" (15:4, 7). #ConflictResolution

How kind are you to others?

Kindness should not be temporary, seasonal or discriminating, but essential to every day living. So, as you consider how you treat others, might you remember that "whatever you [do] for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of [His], you [do] for [Him]" (Matthew 25:40). May you show kindness, always, to everyone you meet. #KindnessMatters

What keeps you from veering off your path?

Along the way, you will be tempted and pressured; and if you struggle with such things, might you seek a path that will teach you to say " "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and live [a] self-controlled, upright and godly [life]" (Titus 2:12), thereby allowing you to "do what is good" (2:14). For He will help keep your path straight, at every turn; and if you veer off, He also "offers salvation" (2:11). #YourNorthStar

How loved are you?

If He did not want you to be here, you wouldn't be, nor would the rest of the world. He chose you and I, along with everyone else, because "we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works" (Ephesians 2:10). For someone to go to the lengths that He has, sacrificing His one and only son, for the human race, then we must be truly loved. So, if you ever question if you are loved, might you look to The One who is love (see 1 John 4:8) and loves you endlessly. #BeLovedByHim
