Daily Meditations of A Nurse Warrior

What keeps your fears away and at bay?

Many fear much and need many reassurances to overcome them. One of them was Gideon, the "mighty warrior" (Judges 6:12). Assured by God, on countless occasions, Gideon continued to ask for them (see 6:16-23, 36-40). So, when fear strikes, might you seek Him in Scripture and in Spirit (see Psalm 23:4; John 14:16-17) so that you fear no more and can face whatever is before you with confidence. #AConfident & #FearlessWarrior

Daily Meditations of A Nurse Warrior

For many reasons, there are haters who are going to hate. This reality shines through with someone who we celebrate this very day, Jesus. He faced death as a newborn babe, because of a jealous King who wanted "to destroy Him" (see Matthew 2:13), was misunderstood by His parents (see Luke 2:41-50) and "own brothers [who] did not believe him" (John 7:5) and was hated by the world (see John 7:7), all in order to honor His Father and save us. How can anyone hate such a person? Today, as you gather and celebrate, may you consider what He has sacrificed and continues to do so each and every day. Instead of hating, might you fill your heart with love and gratitude, always. #MerryChristmas2022

What grabs your time and attention?
Social Media, daily, captures a great deal of time and attention of its many viewers, as there is much to see and hear. Even so, may you consider giving an "ear and come to [Him]; listen, that you may live" (Isaiah 55:3). When you do so, He offers much, mercy, forgiveness and salvation (see 55:6-7), along with goodness and growth and purpose and peace (see 55:10-13). Might He be one of your likes and retweets. #FollowHim & #TrendWithHim & #HisWord

What can you share with others?

Mentoring and being mentored is both an honor and a privilege; and even more so when what is being shared is paid forward. May what you share "declare [His] power to the next generation" (Psalm 71:18). For such wisdom will help revive and restore others through their troubles and tribulations (see 71:20). #KeepPassingItOn #ToTheFuture

How do you handle your struggles?

Paul, the apostle, experienced a great deal of struggles, lashings, hunger and stoning, but still kept going. He did so because of his relationship with God, "the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort" (2 Corinthians 1:3). So, you can either continue to be lashed and stoned by your struggles, or you can get to know Him so that you, too, can be comforted as you go through them (see 2 Corinthians 1:4). #AComfortLikeNoOther #SoftenTheStruggle

What can praying do for you?

Praying is not complicated, but very powerful; and when you do so, you begin a conversation, maybe even develop an intimate relationship with someone who loves you very much. And, as you continue to pray, He tucks away each and every one of your prayers; and when the time is right, He responds. So, if you chose to pray, may your words, too, "be near to the LORD [your] God day and night" (1 Kings 8:59). #FaithfullyPray

How can you turn an insult in to a blessing?

Sometimes, there are difficult conversations that need to be had; and such conversations can be misconstrued as being harsh and insulting, instead of helpful and constructive. So, as you consider your words, may you be mindful of what you say and how you say it. For what may be offensive can still be a blessing, but in disguise, just as Balaam's was to the Hebrew people (see Numbers 24:10), on many occasion, and one being "I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near" (24:17). You can get your point across, but might you consider doing so as a blessing and not an insult. #WordChoice

Why always remain faithful?

Your faith will be challenged, both personally and professionally, and may become shaky. But, "if you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all" (Isaiah 7:9). Fear caused King Ahaz and his people to become "shaken" (7:2). When doubt and fear take over, you lose sight of what is needed to remain faithful. Might you remember to "hold unswervingly to the hope [you] profess, for he who promised is faithful" (10:23). #NeverDoubtFaith OR #ShrinkBack739

What are you willing to sacrifice for another?

I know someone who sacrificed everything, for each and every one of us. This person, God, sent "his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering" (Romans 8:3). So, as you consider your willingness to do so, might you remember what He chose to sacrifice for you. #TheReasonForTheSeason

How content are you?

Wealth comes with its own set of issues, just as it does to be poor. Asking for neither was Agur. Instead, Agur asked God only to give him his "daily bread" (Proverbs 30:8). Agur saw that "neither poverty nor riches" (30:8) served him well; and wanted a content life. For this way of life would keep Agur humble, honest and focused, instead of becoming arrogant, dishonest and mischievous (30:9). So, as you consider your place in life, may you, too, find what you need, your daily bread, in search for what makes you content. #FindingYourDailyBread
