Spent the afternoon putting the entirety of the AS THE GOLDEN EMPEROR LIES DYING King In Yellow RPG setting together. You can download it here: this one, I made available for everybody. You can also read a short story based on this setting (“Le Roi Est Mort”) in my chapbook DECISIONS. That one, you’re gonna have to buy.

The “I Have Doubts” LOTR: THE RINGS OF POWER series trailer.
Actually, I don’t have doubts. I have suspicions. Specifically, I suspect that this is some bullsh*t.
(Via Geeks Are Sexy) I know I’m gonna watch at least the first episode of THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER. Sure. No question about that. But I’m gonna be in Full Suspicion Mode while I’m doing it. Because possibly – maybe even probably – this is some bullsh*t.
But I’m a fair-minded man.

Movie of the Week: Lincoln.
I am embarrassed that I haven’t watched Lincoln before. I mean, this cast. My God, this cast. Possibly my favorite part? None of these people are deifying Abraham Lincoln. They yell at him, oppose them, Secretary Edwin Stanton even yells “No! Not another one of your stories!” This is now one of my favorite Spielberg movies.
Tweet of the Day, I REGRET NOTHING edition.
It comes close to The Line, but it’s just too funny to pass up. Guess which one I voted for. No, go ahead. Guess.

The funny part? They’re gonna use it! They’re totally gonna use it.
I finished MS. MARVEL.
I liked it. MS. MARVEL is fun, in the same that THE UNBEATABLE SQUIRREL GIRL is fun: the people making it fundamentally like comic books, and not for what can be done with them for [INSERT PET CAUSE HERE]. The main character is endearing and the action is good, while being as nonviolent as you can when people are throwing giant balls of solidified energy around. I assume that all of this ends with Young Avengers, or something, and that’s cool.
All in all, I had a good time. Not my favorite Disney+ series (LOKI was my favorite), but definitely fun.

Jim snorted. “Have you heard how the two we captured talk? They sound like they swallowed a GoodSay dictionary. It’s actively painful to listen to.”
“That’s… odd. The two prisoners are young, right?”
“We think so, yeah. Short and skinny, at least. They probably lost a couple of pounds of grime from the showers, too.” Jim looked at her. “You think there’s something to that?”
“Perhaps. People fluent in GoodSay weren’t ever really common. Most of the gallowglasses and sepoys we captured still spoke English, and they were the most motivated to learn the Invaders’ language. Believe it or not, it’s hard for adults to turn off their minds enough to think in GoodSay.”
“So if we’ve got two kids who are fluent… right, I don’t like where that’s going.” Jim activated his phon. “Hey, Juleen? It’s Jim, from the IRO… no, you don’t have to use the title… anyway. You know those two sepoys we brought in this morning? Are they being deprogrammed, or just detoxed? Yeah, I can hold.” He looked over at Alex. “I’m thinking of ordering a One-Oh-One on the both of them. What do you think?”
Alex nodded. “Considering everything? Yes. It may shake something loose. The chance is enough to justify the cost, at any rate.”

‘Southern Cross.’
I would probably hate going to sea on a sailing vessel, but I want to do it anyway.
