I'm so excited...
The pub date of Endless Summer (May 25) draws nearer! I just sent back my corrections to the proof.
What is the proof, you may ask? The proof is a printout of the book that is made to look like the book will look, with the correct font and margins and so forth. Thus I got a sneak peak at what page 1 will look like:
and page 2, OMG too cute, look at the little hearts under my name!
and page 3
and that's probably all I should show you.
At this point my job was to catch typos, and I also was able to ...

I owe you one.
Lots of people have been very kind to me lately. The Ungrateful Brother is not one of them, as he still has not visited this blog since the summer, but the kindnesses of the rest of you almost make up for it.
Cafe Saturday has posted lovely reviews of Going Too Far and The Boys Next Door . The YA Book Nuts also enjoyed Going Too Far, and A Good Addiction has posted an interview with me about writing the book. I will be hanging around her book club forum this week to answer your questions, so po...

ATTENTION NOVELISTS!
So you've finished your 111,000-word masterpiece, and you've sent it off to your literary agent. She will love it and submit it to publishers right away. You know she will. And then your life on the literary A-list will begin.
*glancing at watch*
Trouble is, you're not your agent's only client. And her job involves a lot more than reading her clients' manuscripts. You have to wait a little longer to use your seven-figure advance to hire a personal chef. It's fish sticks again tonight, folks.

THE NAUGHTY LIST
As if being a purrfect cheerleader isn't enough responsibility! Tessa Crimson's the sweet and spunky leader of the SOS (Society of Smitten Kittens), a cheer squad–turned–spy society dedicated to bringing dastardly boyfriends to justice, one cheater at a time. Boyfriend-busting wouldn't be so bad . . . except that so far, every suspect on the Naughty List has been proven 10...

New new cover!
I am ecstatic about the new cover for
Endless Summer,
the sequel to
The Boys Next Door!
What do you think?

"What happened to the old cover?" you may ask.
I love the old cover and all the romantic comedy covers that Amy Saidens has drawn. However, Simon Pulse decided, and I agree, that they look young in today's market compared with other covers. They don't reflect the age level of the books. So they redesigned the cover, and man, I really think I lucked out.
They seem to think so too. They are s...

Writing is more fun with friends
Re-joining
Romance Writers of America
in 2004 was the best thing I ever did for my career. On Saturday I attended the monthly meeting of my local chapter,
Southern Magic
, at which we made plans for the year. If you live elsewhere in the country, check out the happenings of your chapter...but if you live around Birmingham, you really need to be at these meetings. Check out this line-up:
February 27: Me! Well, not just me. I'll be on a pubbed author panel with Paula Graves , Lynn Raye Harris , ...

CAPTIVATE
In this NYT-Bestselling sequel to Need, Zara and her friends knew they hadn't solved the pixie problem for good. Far from it. The king's needs grow deeper every day he's stuck in captivity, while his control over his people gets weaker. It's made him vulnerable. And now there's a new king in town.
A turf war is imminent, since the new pixie king, Astley, is moving in quickly. Nick...
