Endless Summer on the shelves!

What a terrific release week for Endless Summer ! Thanks to everyone who bought a copy. I appreciate it very much!

My time on the Girlfriends' Cyber Circuit is drawing to a close with a few more interviews:

Elizabeth Scott asks, "What do you wish you'd known about being published before your first book came out?"

Jeri Smith-Ready asks, What's the weirdest tidbit of research you've ever incorporated into a book?

Linda Gerber asks, "What's one thing most people don't know about you?"

Diana Rodriguez...

Public Shame Writing Challenge for June!

No rest for the weary. Today we start the Public Shame Writing Challenge for June. It is dumbed down for the summertime: we'll be checking in weekly instead of daily. Here's the check-in schedule:

Week 1: Monday, June 7. No, that's actually not quite a week of writing. I can't believe you're whining already.
Week 2: Monday, June 14.
Week 3: Monday, June 21.
Week 4: Monday, June 28.
Week OMG I Have Got to Make Up a Lot of Words Quickly: Thursday, July 1.

Here are a couple of icons you can post on yo...

Public Shame Writing Challenge Prom!

I got some great writing done yesterday, but I'm sorry to say I got nowhere near meeting my May goal over the long weekend. I did, however, snap a picture of shame. He was hanging out in my dad's garden, doing his imitation of a scarecrow from the ninth circle of hell.

And then we went to the prom together.

But I know a few ladies who had a much better time at the prom than I did: JoAnn and Kellie.

Who else deserves a prom? Let us know how you did! Then sign up for the challenge for June.

Congrat...

Day 27

Yesterday when I was at the water park with my son (and his friend, and my friend, and her 7-year-old daughter who is almost as tall as me), I got the following text message from [info:] victoria_dahl : "Where r u? Check ur twitter! *evil laugh*" I wrote back: "O GOD WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW?" But it turns out she had done something very sweet. She gave YA Librarian Tales an interview about how much she loves me. Thank you Vicki and YA Librarian Tales! I really appreciate it, and everything she says has...

Day 26

More interviews with the Girlfriends' Cyber Circuit: Lucienne Diver has posted my Twitter version (140 characters) of Endless Summer , and Kelly Parra has posted about my writing schedule, which is going to make you laugh when you find out how much I wrote yesterday.

YA Librarian Tales has very kindly posted an interview with me, too. And Smitten With Books is giving away copies of Endless Summer, The Ex Games , and Going Too Far . Here she is in all her adorableness:

Now to the point. How much di...

Day 25

More interviews with me are up today on the Girlfriends' Cyber Circuit! Debbie Rigaud asks, "What bad habit are you desperately trying to break out of?" (hint: the answer is not "shame"). Megan Kelley Hall asks, "What do you tell people is your favorite book/author?" (the answer is not "Evelyn Waugh's Sword of Honour Trilogy"). Eileen Cook asks, "What do you like to do when you're not writing?" (the answer is not "Watch Mythbusters and eat chocolate chip cookies" because people do not necessa...

Day 24 plus squee!

Hey. Sorry I'm late. It is the official release day for Endless Summer

[OMG I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:]

and I am incredibly busy with being full of myself. There is all manner of Jennifer Echolsy goodness on the internets this morning.

YA Librarian Tales has posted the (so far) one and only review of Endless Summer. Initially I received only two copies of the book, sent one to her, and put the other under my pillow.

Girls Without a Bookshelf have posted an interview with me about Forget...

ENDLESS SUMMER release week!!! And, oh yeah, days 21, 22, and 23

First of all, A Good Addiction posted a lovely 5-star review of Forget You , and I really appreciate it! I'm so glad she enjoyed it.

But this is Endless Summer 's week because the release day is tomorrow! I am so excited! Over the weekend I signed copies at all Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million stores in the Birmingham area (in case you are looking for one, hint hint).

I also answered a LOT of interview questions because I am touring on the Girlfriends' Cyber Circuit this week. Kay Cassidy has a...

Day 20

I woke up to the sweetest e-mail this morning! A reader named Lani sent me a picture of Endless Summer in her local Barnes & Noble.

Notice how its big butt hangs off the shelf. I have heard it's at the Barnes & Noble at The Summit here in Birmingham, too, and I will go sign those copies today IF and only IF I get my big box o' books addressed and sent to reviewers.

Because no, I didn't do it last night. I was about to finish work, and I was going to stay up until I addressed every book, and the...

Day 19

I didn't finish addressing the ginormous copies of Endless Summer yesterday. Did I mention that they are REALLY heavy? It took me five hours to drag the box from the front door into my office.

You?

Your goal for May

Your goal for yesterday (Wednesday)

Your achievement yesterday

Your goal for today
