D. A. Charles is a wife, mother and personal care provider by day, and enjoys writing into the wee hours of the night from her residence in the forest.

Dee’s roots began in nursing, but she found her passion providing Home and Community-based Care to individuals with disabilities and has done so for more than thirty-five years. D. A. enjoys the, sometimes challenging, scavenger hunt that is information and referral, and is involved in disability rights advocacy.

Dee has sprinkled real life disability issues throughout her writing to bring about disability awareness and maintains an information and referral website with links for agencies and organizations that provide goods and services for individuals who have disabilities, as well as curren

“Steven shook his head frantically. What kind of accident? His eyes jerked from side to side, trying to see past his limited field of vision. Where are Mom and Dad?”
D.A. Charles, Shattered

“Steven said, hoarsely, "Please tell Aunt Sophie I love her." "We'll be right here, son. We'll see you soon." Logan emphasized the words, as if his pledge would make it so. He squeezed his nephew's hand and leaned down, placing a kiss on his forehead. "I love you. Please come back to us.”
D.A. Charles, IMPACT!: The Second Novel of The Roll Models Saga

“Sometimes I feel like you've given up. It's like you just accept this as your fate. Don't you want to get better?" "Don't you see?" Acceptance is the opposite of defeat!”

“Logan’s guts twisted a little more with each of Maddie Eastman's stuttered words. A horrific accident... Oliver's new Pathfinder... Jaws of Life... the coroner's van…”

D.A. Charles Finally taking the time to update my Goodreads with the things I've read over the past few years.

Sadly, even though my Kindle is bursting at its seams, my bookshelf is sorely lacking.

While Kindle has made it so easy to one-click a book, I miss the smell, texture and enjoyment of holding a print book in my hands.

My goal in 2014, read more books... the old fashioned way.
