Vote Early, Often

Crazy week around Casa de Wells. I'm heading out of town this weekend for a family wedding. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal except I've volunteered for several pre-wedding tasks. This means, I'm spending most of my week doing things like tracking down ribbon in the perfect shade of green and coordinating with the bridal task force on many wedding strategeries. Fun times.

So today is the official release day of the Mammoth Book of Vampire Romance 2. I happened to find a copy at my local B&N on Saturday and snatched it up. But I get a free copy since I contributed to the antho. That means I have this extra copy just sitting here.

The Mage in Black Cover

Oooh! What have we here? Yes, my friends, the cover for The Mage in Black. I love, love, love Sabina's I'm-gonna-kick-your-ass expression.

Now, some of you might be confused because you've already seen another version of this cover. For some reason, an older version was uploaded to a few sites. But, as far as I know, this cover is the cover. Of course, we're still several months away from the release of the book (April 2010), so there might be a few minor tweaks.

Catching Up

Hello, friends. Sorry it's been so long since I've update. I have a good excuse (don't I always?). Last Thursday, I had to have unexpected surgery. It was fairly minor, but laid me out for the better part of the last week.  The good news is I'm feeling good now and ready to resume my bid for world domination.

The other good news is all that time in bed gave me a chance to finish my copy edits and get them sent off. Now I can focus on Green-Eyed Demon. Also, I got a call yesterday that might...

Happy Mon–Oh, wait …

…  It's Tuesday. As much as I enjoy three-day weekends, I have to say they totally screw up my perception of time. I'm usually pretty confused as it is. It's a side effect of working from home and not having the general work week schedule.

Spent a nice weekend with the family. Spawn was still getting over his croup, so we mostly took it easy. I don't know about everyone else, but fall could seriously not get here fast enough. To celebrate its impending arrival, we did some Halloween crafts...

Dragon*Con Update

Well, I'm sad to report that I won't be attending Dragon*Con after all. Spawn has come down with the croup. Historically, this means we're looking at at least three days of steam baths and Scooby Do marathons.  And that means, as much as I'd love to hang out at D*C all weekend being a fangirl, the kid comes first.
