THIRST: Back in Stock, CICADA: January 2022

THIRST is back in stock at the STORE, in case you were after a copy!

In other news: There’s a delay in printing the new CICADA book, so if you’ve already ordered, it’s looking like January at the soonest. Apologies for the delay — we promise books will go out as soon as we can get our mitts on ‘em!

Branding...

The DRUNK POEM animations continue!

This time out we have to thank our friends at the Dead Bird Gang who’ve sponsored the work featuring Brody Lee reading a short one about cold beer and branding bull calves, and showcasing some old family polaroids rotoscoped by Romana Vashtar.

As always, you can watch more DRUNK POEM ANIMATIONS via the button below!

T-Shirts Have Landed...

I picked up the T-Shirts on my lunch hour earlier this week — and they are snazzy! I have a thing about texture, and never want to wear a scratchy t-shirt again, so rest assured, these are comfy!

The books are still being finalized and then printed. But because there are limited numbers of style and colors (and because my options weren’t set up correctly before!), I figured it might be worth mentioning this new purchasing option made possible by the computer magic behind the website here: Afterpay.

With it, you can get the cost of any order at the store broken into 4 monthly installments instead of shelling out for the whole enchilada up front. The new option should be turned on, so now that holiday budgets are getting tight, this hopefully makes grabbing up anything on offer bit easier to manage!

Thanks again for your interest in my work, and stay safe out there!

Cicada at the STORE...Now Featuring Options That (Hopefully) Work!

Well, hell…looks like I still have more to learn about running this ship…

Apologies to any and all who tried to order a shirt and book combo during the sale, only to discover not all options had been sorted by the stinky rube who runs the behind the scenes her (me). Maybe some of you desperately wanted a different option, but couldn’t make the darn thing work? Believe me, I feel your pain!

If that was the case — I think it’s all sorted now. And just for hanging in there with me, here’s a code to save a few bucks on your order (good for $5 off — between now and the 27th of November 2021). Just enter this code at checkout:

CICADA Book + Shirt...

On Sale for a day or two…

Get the new book + a T-Shirt, and save a few bucks!

The book is the plucky true tale of this little poem that could…and continues to! From original idea, through its social media gadfly status, this poem has reached scores of readers — who’ve shared it with hundreds, if not thousands more. It’s been tattooed, it’s been found tucked in books the world over thanks to the GPP, and now you can read all about it while jealous types marvel at your sweet duds!

Both the books and the shirts are being made now, and won’t ship until at least December, but supplies are limited (with only a handful of shirts in each size and style) so, if you’re after one, get while the gettin’s good!

Get Yours!

Chupacabras...

Another day, another DEEP & GORGEOUS animation!

This time we travel south-of-the-border, to the beautiful open-air markets in Mexican border towns like Juarez, and the Corona-and-mescal-fueled purchases of drunken tourists. Bastien Chiarini narrates, Leeches of Lore brings the rock, and the animation is once again courtesy of stoniends. Ole!

This Is What It Sounds Like...

…when Michael D. Blum (who we have to thank for the original inspiration behind the audiobook which has since led to these A DEEP & GORGEOUS THIRST animations), narrates this late-night, booze-soaked claymation by Jeremy Lopez. This is the latest in the on-going ANIMATED DRUNK POEMS project, so grab a drink and kick back for about 40 seconds!

Drive In THIRST png.png Yep…It’s Another Animation For Y’all To Watch!

This time it’s what to do when there’s nothing left to do.

The cinematic claymation is courtesy of Tharinda Dharmasena and team Sri Lanka, and the drunk poem is read by Scott Meier.

Boozy Tunes!

Before there’s too many more, I figured I better get to work on a one-stop spot to watch them all…

So here we go: the ANIMATED DRUNK POEMS page…for your viewing pleasure!

I’m not sure how many will fit, or how it will load once there are a few dozen done…but for now, enjoy!

T-n-T...

The THIRST animations continue to roll in, and in this short piece you’ll notice the beginning of a trend: the utter perfection of the Tanqueray and Tonic. This time the paper-based stop-motion animation comes from our talented team in Sri Lanka — delivering once more with whimsy and charm — while the reading is courtesy of a budding young talent in his own regard, Brody Lee.

As for the cocktail itself: a Tanqueray and Tonic enjoys a staring role in quite a few drunk poems across the entire collection, and, well, the end of this poem should help everyone understand why!
