CICADA Book + Shirt...
On Sale for a day or two…
Get the new book + a T-Shirt, and save a few bucks!
The book is the plucky true tale of this little poem that could…and continues to! From original idea, through its social media gadfly status, this poem has reached scores of readers — who’ve shared it with hundreds, if not thousands more. It’s been tattooed, it’s been found tucked in books the world over thanks to the GPP, and now you can read all about it while jealous types marvel at your sweet duds!
Both the books and the shirts are being made now, and won’t ship until at least December, but supplies are limited (with only a handful of shirts in each size and style) so, if you’re after one, get while the gettin’s good!

Chupacabras...
Another day, another DEEP & GORGEOUS animation!
This time we travel south-of-the-border, to the beautiful open-air markets in Mexican border towns like Juarez, and the Corona-and-mescal-fueled purchases of drunken tourists. Bastien Chiarini narrates, Leeches of Lore brings the rock, and the animation is once again courtesy of stoniends. Ole!

This Is What It Sounds Like...
…when Michael D. Blum (who we have to thank for the original inspiration behind the audiobook which has since led to these A DEEP & GORGEOUS THIRST animations), narrates this late-night, booze-soaked claymation by Jeremy Lopez. This is the latest in the on-going ANIMATED DRUNK POEMS project, so grab a drink and kick back for about 40 seconds!

Drive In (On the Information Superhighway!)
Yep…It’s Another Animation For Y’all To Watch! This time it’s what to do when there’s nothing left to do.
The cinematic claymation is courtesy of Tharinda Dharmasena and team Sri Lanka, and the drunk poem is read by Scott Meier.

Boozy Tunes!
Before there’s too many more, I figured I better get to work on a one-stop spot to watch them all…
So here we go: the ANIMATED DRUNK POEMS page…for your viewing pleasure!
I’m not sure how many will fit, or how it will load once there are a few dozen done…but for now, enjoy!

T-n-T...
The THIRST animations continue to roll in, and in this short piece you’ll notice the beginning of a trend: the utter perfection of the Tanqueray and Tonic. This time the paper-based stop-motion animation comes from our talented team in Sri Lanka — delivering once more with whimsy and charm — while the reading is courtesy of a budding young talent in his own regard, Brody Lee.
As for the cocktail itself: a Tanqueray and Tonic enjoys a staring role in quite a few drunk poems across the entire collection, and, well, the end of this poem should help everyone understand why!

Leaving Las Vegas Meets Waking Life...
Here at the HQ the A DEEP & GORGEOUS THIRST animations continue. This time is a bit of LEAVING LAS VEGAS meets WAKING LIFE, as Tina LaTurner-McCreesh narrates and Romana Vashtar delivers the stunning artwork.
Drink it all in, everyone!

The Wisdom of a Shortdog...
When heartbreak strikes, find solace in the wisdom of a shortdog. Voiced by Memes, adding yet another layer to it all, we’re proud to offer up another animated drunk poem from A DEEP & GORGEOUS THIRST. This time the animation is by Vekser.

Adult Swim...(wink wink!)
The animation adventure continues…with our latest offering: a sexy, short read by the transcendent Tina LaTurner-McCreesh, with artwork by Stoniends.
Now, the pearl-clutching set out there (boy am I tired of them) will surely consider this NSFW — to me, it’s just deeply human, deeply passionate, and absolutely beautiful as both an animated piece, a poem…and one of the best things about being alive.
Enjoy!

More Drunk Poem Animations...
My super-smart and super-lovely wife told me that, despite both the book and now the audiobook being out for a while, I should keep making my drunk poems into animated videos. And she’s never led me astray, so that’s exactly what I’m doing!
You may recall, the book is…not short. So, it’s going to be quite an undertaking. To animate EACH AND EVERY drunk poem from the A DEEP & GORGEOUS THIRST using the readings recorded for the audiobook (whenever I’ve got the time and money to do it) will surely take years.
But there are so many cool styles and approaches to animation, and so many folks out there in the world just trying to do their thing — that I’m going to do my part to share as much of it as I can!
If you (or anyone you know) might be interested in helping out, feel free to reach out HERE.
And just for the heck of it, we’ve been toying with some claymation bits for the website. So, who knows, maybe we’ll see some drunk poems done up like so…
