Word Count: About 95k
E-book Available at:
Amazon Kindle US  / Amazon UK
Print Available at: Amazon  /Barnes and Noble

 Available at Audible

Set up: This is the opening scene from Chapter One where Sanya finds out MacLaurin is back in town.

***Note: The snippet may or may not have been modified to fit the 8 sentence limit. Warning: There may be some fancy punctuations and long sentences. :)

*******************************************************************************

The moment Sanya entered the bar, Garran MacLaurin's scent slammed into her, causing the icy fear to twist at her heart. Through the throng of patrons' laughter and carrying on as they drank themselves into oblivion, she spotted him. He sat alone in the back, beneath the dim overhead lights. She immediately scanned the bar looking for his furry sidekick, Harrison Connell. She didn't see him, but she would bet the werewolf lurked somewhere close.

Sanya concentrated on MacLaurin again. He appeared relaxed as if he enjoyed the Irish band's poor rendition of Danny Boy. Good, he hadn't noticed her...yet.

*******************************************************************************

Who thinks MacLaurin is aware Sanya entered the bar? lol

So....Have you ever tried to avoid someone in store, restaurant, or any other place and have slipped away hoping they wouldn't notice you? Did you have a good reason for slinking away?

Stop by next week for snippet #2 from my Urban Fantasy tale, SOUL TAKER.

If you're interested here's a blurb for SOUL TAKER:

No soul is safe…

A vampire from the Grim Sith sept is sucking the souls out of young women from the Boston area, but this sinister crime is far worse than a vampire seeking substance. He’s selling the souls to the highest bidder and it seems business is booming.

A vampire, a werewolf, and a Necromancer are a most unlikely team, but Garran, Harrison, and Isabella plan on putting a kink in the dubbed Soul Taker’s plans. It’s personal now. One of their friends has fallen victim to the Soul Taker’s charms, but to stop him from hurting anyone else, their efforts may involve raising the dead.

I Hear Voices…Soul Taker @KMNbooks @guyveryzer @NewOnAudible

Audio_Soul TakerSoul Taker is available at Audible! So thrilled to share the good news with everyone!

Having Soul Taker created for an audible version for readers to download and enjoy was so much fun, but lots of hard work.

The narrator has to be a convincing actor to play all the characters' parts. It’s like going to a the theater where the characters from the script come alive the moment the actors step upon the stage.

Guy Veryzer did an excellent job narrating the Soul Taker! He truly captured the essence of the story and gave my characters their voices for all to hear.

If you're interested, here's the link and your chance to listen to a sample before you download your copy!! Audible

Enjoy and Happy listening!

“Ye can ring me if ye like to go," he said and added, "Mrs. O’Malley has my number.” He leaned toward her and kissed her cheek. “May yer dreams all be sweet, Michaela Grant.”

It took her a few seconds to realize he had walked away. She was in real trouble here. If she

wasn’t dying, if she wasn’t going back home… “There are too many ifs to make this work,” she

murmured under her breath. Her gaze lingered on Alan’s tall frame for a moment longer as he

sauntered toward his brother, and with a long sigh of regret, she turned and strode out the door.

*******************************************************************************

Live, love and laugh, Michaela. You don't have to be reckless to have fun. You're not dead yet and no one truly knows when their time is up. Don't you agree?:)

This is going to be my last snippet from MAGIC OF THE LOCH. I hope you've enjoyed all these months of snippets. :) A million thanks to those who left comments. Much appreciated!

And thanks to those who purchased a copy of Magic of the Loch and let me how much they loved Alan and Michaela's tale. I can't even begin to tell you how much that means to me.

Alan proved a smooth talker with his claims he wanted to find a soul mate, while warning her about his brother being the player. Alan’s touch set off a longing inside of her, but she couldn’t allow herself the luxury of an affair for numerous reasons. She leaned back and met his gaze. The dark heat there told her he wanted more than a kiss, but brief dalliances weren’t her style and she had no intentions of changing her moral standards now. “I don’t think—”

He placed a finger over her mouth, silencing her words. “I’ll just make sure ye arrive back safe an no more. I’m a patient man. We’ll take this at yer pace.”

*******************************************************************************

I don't think Alan isn't going away anytime soon. So do you believe his patience is a virtue that will soon win Michaela's heart? :)

“I knew you’d be a good kisser,” she said, her voice a hoarse whisper, lacing her words like an invitation for more.

His lips slid into a seductive curve as he spoke, “Did ye now?”

She nodded her head, still a little breathless.

“This was a mistake, ye know.”

“It was?” she asked with confusion and tried to move away, but he held her still.

“Shush, I only meant it was a mistake on my part to indulge with a promise of only one taste when I want so much more.”

His mouth covered hers again, taking her under his spell and she didn’t want to stop either, but they couldn’t continue to kiss or snog as he called it right here in the pub... not when she felt herself losing control. She moved her mouth to the side and inhaled deeply as she rested her cheek against his and murmured, “It’s getting late and I should go.”

Kiss me, the thought whispered in her mind, but he somehow knew what she craved. He took her mug from her hand and placed it on the table next to his as he leaned forward, his lips hovering over hers. “Just a taste, aye?” he said, his seductive whisper stroking over her mouth with the effect of a soft kiss and his hand slipped to the nape of her neck, drawing her closer as he deepened the caress.

Heat spread through her, warming her from the inside out. He tasted of the sea, whiskey and sweet temptation, and the more she indulged, the more she wanted. The thick beat of awareness ran through her blood, making her heart beat faster. Her hands cupped his face, his five o’clock shadow barely prickling her palm.

The kiss ended if only to take a breath, but he didn’t move away, his lips still hovering near hers as if to reclaim them again.

“How so?”

She opened her mouth to explain but closed it again. “Never mind.” She wanted to find out more about him, but somehow Alan kept turning the conversation back to her.
