**Please, don't send us your story if these guidelines aren't met.
When do we need the stories?

How many vamps do you see?… Flowers and Fangs @KMNbooks @RebeccaJVickery #8sunday #snippetsunday
Welcome to Snippet Sunday.
Enjoy a snippet from last week: Flowers and Fangs #5
This week's snippet is from Flowers and Fangs.
The three Hayes brothers arrived at the Wilkins' home. They've dusted the Nosferatu (one of the more nastier vampires and the most lethal), and they have staked another vamp, who they hope is T. Wilkens. This will be the last of the infected family members they have to eliminate...or so they hope. Wade is going through the vamp's wallet for confirmation.
This is in Derek's POV, but Wade is speaking first.
*The excerpt may have been modified to fit the 10 sentence limit.
********************************************************************
"We have a winner, boys. This is Trent Wilkins." He leafed through the other compartments of the wallet. "Twenty dollars." He pocketed the money, which had Trent cursing and snarling all over again. "And…" He held up a photo with a frown.
"What's wrong?" Axel asked and Wade handed him the photo.
"Oh, hell," Axel said then thrust the photo to Derek.
Trent was in the photo, and… another Trent? "He has a twin?"
*********************************************************************************
Remember what the Nosferatu said before Axel dusted him? Double the trouble... lol
Flowers and Fangs, (Stake and Dust, Book II) These are stand alone stories. If you're interested, 'Stake and Dust', is Book I.
About Flowers and Fangs:
Derek Hayes and his family are preternatural hunters. Stake and dust is their motto, but Derek has a difficult time accepting his sworn duty when Sloane McBride, his ex-girlfriend from high school, is the one he's been sent to eliminate. Once infected from a Nosferatu bite, there is no turning back. Sloane has been bitten and she will eventually change.
It proves a race against time when Derek puts aside his core beliefs and teams up with Sloane. The Nosferatu wants Sloane for his own, Derek's brothers are hunting her, and every second brings Sloane closer to changing into the very fiend they want to kill.

Holiday in Hell… Flowers and Fangs @KMNbooks @RebeccaJVickery #8sunday #snippetsunday
Enjoy a snippet from last week: Flowers and Fangs #4
This week's snippet is from Flowers and Fangs.
The three Hayes brothers arrived at the Wilkins' home. They've dusted the Nosferatu (one of the more nastier vampires and the most lethal). They need to find T. Wilkens, who has been turned. They can't allow him to infect anyone else. The Nosferatu already hinted Wilkens has a girlfriend.
This is in Derek's POV.
*The excerpt may have been modified to fit the 10 sentence limit.
*********************************************************************************
T. Wilkins screeched as he leapt off the roof, sailing through the air like a bat taking flight.
Wade did the honors and his dagger flew from his fingertips, hitting Wilkins squarely in the chest, right where his vampire heart lay beneath. The newly made vamp fell to the ground mid-flight like a stone effigy.
They strode over to the last remaining Wilkins. He looked momentarily stunned as if he couldn't wrap his mind around why his brain worked and his limbs had taken a snooze.
"So who's your girlfriend?" Wade asked. "Did you turn her, vamp?"
Wilkins blinked then snarled. "Go to hell."
"I'll consider the holiday if you cooperate," Wade replied as he sat on his haunches next to Wilkins and rifled through the vamp's pockets.
*********************************************************************************
What will Wilkens' contents in his wallet reveal? Stop by next week to find out.

Off with his head… Flowers and Fangs @KMNbooks @RebeccaJVickery #8sunday #snippetsunday
Enjoy a snippet from last week: Flowers and Fangs #3
This week's snippet is from Flowers and Fangs.
The three Hayes brothers arrived at the Wilkins' home and have staked a Nosferatu (one of the more nastier vampires and the most lethal). The vamp's been neutralized, but before they dust it, the brothers want to know who the Nosferatu has infected. The Nosferatu claims T. Wilkins has a girlfriend. then keeps repeating 'Double the trouble.' Whatever that may mean.
This is in Derek's POV.
*The excerpt may have been modified to fit the 10 sentence limit.
*********************************************************************************
The Nosferatu paused and sniffed the air before he leveled his gaze on Axel. "You smell different, hunter."
Derek frowned and stared at his brother. Axel didn't answer, but lifted his sword and brought it down with one swift move. The head rolled to the side, still grinning. It cracked, shriveled, and then disintegrated into a pile of ash, seconds before the body followed suit.
A screech from behind them, made them whirl around to see a young male, early twenties and no doubt a vampire with his fangs showing. He was perched on the roof of the patio cover, glaring—his eyes glowed stoplight red.
"Mr. T. Wilkins," Derek murmured. What other vamp would be so put out that the Nosferatu met its death?
*********************************************************************************
Mr. T. Wilkins seems a little put out. lol

Double the Trouble… Flowers and Fangs @KMNbooks @RebeccaJVickery #8sunday #snippetsunday
Enjoy a snippet from last week: Flowers and Fangs #2
This week's snippet is from Flowers and Fangs.
The three Hayes brothers arrived at the Wilkins' home and are hunting a Nosferatu (one of the more nastier vampires and the most lethal). The vamp's been neutralized, but before they dust it, the brothers want to know where Wilkins is. They must eliminate all the people infected by the Nosferatu.
This is in Derek's POV.
*The excerpt may have been modified to fit the 10 sentence limit.
*********************************************************************************
Axel strode forward and rolled the Nosferatu over. The vamp snarled and snapped its jaws. He wished the stake through the heart rendered the vamp's vocal chords, too.
"Don't think this is over hunters," the vamp spat.
"Damn, it is an ugly bastard," Wade grimaced as he placed his hat on his head.
"Where is Wilkins?" Not that Derek expected the vamp to be forthcoming, but life sometimes was full of surprises.
It snickered and said, "Double the trouble," it chortled again, "and his gal is a real pal, too."
"Just off the wanker." Wade bored easily, but it would be better to hear what the fiend had to say first.
*********************************************************************************
Double the trouble. What do you suppose the vamp means? Stop by next week to find out.

Dust to dust… Flowers and Fangs @KMNbooks @RebeccaJVickery #8sunday #snippetsunday
Enjoy a snippet from last week: Flowers and Fangs #1
This week's snippet is from Flowers and Fangs.
The three Hayes brothers arrived at the Wilkins' home and are hunting a Nosferatu (one of the more nastier vampires and the most lethal). They've cornered the creature in the backyard.
This is in Derek's POV.
*The excerpt may have been modified to fit the 10 sentence limit.
*********************************************************************************
The vamp bellowed and stumbled forward. Derek didn't waste any time and loaded another arrow, but the vamp had already dislodged the weapon from his shoulder and flitted.
"Behind you," Wade shouted.
Derek heard his brother's warning as he swung around to fire off another shot. The vamp stood a foot away with his hands outstretched and his fangs a nasty length meant for tearing. If he'd been a millisecond slower, he would have been this vamp's next victim. The vamp fell to his knees then face forward, landing hard. He had hit the vamp's heart, paralyzing him, but the creature was far from dead.
A simple stake to the heart didn't dust a vamp; the wood only immobilized it. To truly kill a blood drinker, they had to relieve it of its head, and this took a good deal of muscle, but once done the blood drinker literally turned to ash. Yeah, dust to dust, ashes to ashes…yada yada yada…
*********************************************************************************
Dust to dust... I think Nosferatu is about to find out the brothers don't mess around. lol

Enjoy a snippet from last week: Abraham's UN-DEAD.
This week's snippet is from Flowers and Fangs.
When the Hayes brothers arrived at the Wilkins' home, they found the Nosferatu (one of the more nastier vampires and the most lethal) , hunting for a souvenir to take back to his nest, a memento of his successful kill. They've taken the fight in the backyard.
This is in Derek's POV.
*The excerpt may have been modified to fit the 10 sentence limit.
*********************************************************************************
A whoosh of wind blew the ends of his hair off the base of his neck. "Look alive, bros," he warned his brothers as he spun in the direction, he believed the vamp to be, with his weapon ready to shoot.
"Holy effin' hell," Wade cursed. His Stetson no longer sat upon his head, but lay a few feet to the left of him, but Wade knew better than to let this distract him.
The vamp toyed with them, flitting in between them like a ghost before hiding in the shadows.
The chains clicking like wind chimes drew his attention to the swing set. The swing blew in the breeze. He narrowed his eyes and shifted his gaze toward the large oak tree, the vamp sat no more than a few feet away among the foliage and flowers. Two glowing red eyes peered back at him. "Gotcha." His forefinger pressed on the trigger and the arrow flew.

A few drops of blood… Abraham’s UN-DEAD @KMNbooks @RebeccaJVickery #8sunday #snippetsunday
Welcome to Snippet Sunday. Since it's is creeping closer to Halloween, I thought I'd changes things up a bit. This is a snippet from my Halloween short story from the Myths, Legends, and Midnight Kisses Collection.
Enjoy a snippet from Abraham's UN-DEAD . Feedback is always appreciated.
Last week's snippet of Abraham's UN-DEAD #2.
Snippet: This is from Chapter Two where Adryanna and Bram (vampires), decide to help an ailing lad (7 year old, Abraham) with a few drops of their vampire blood. We're jumping ahead a few paragraphs. This is Bram's POV and he is speaking first.
The year is 1854, Dublin, Ireland.
*The excerpt may have been modified to fit the 10 sentence limit.
*********************************************************************************
"A small taste, my lad, and your health will improve with each passing day. Of this, I promise."
Some vampyre septs' bloodlines proved detrimental to a human. One sip and the human would not escape changing into a vampyre, but the Oich Sith sept of which Adryanna and himself belonged, drinking small amounts of their blood could heal wounds and ailments in a human. It did not change them into a blood-drinker. That involved bringing the person near death before reviving them again with blood. The process was dangerous and more involved and if the timing was wrong, it proved fatal. However, no such process would take place tonight. Young Abraham's health would benefit from what Bram offered and not more.
Young Abraham's gaze shifted to Adryanna, apprehension marring his features, and Bram did not need to glance at her to know she encouraged the child with a smile and a nod of her head.
