The 3 Biggest Stumbling Blocks for INFP Writers.

The 3 Biggest Stumbling Blocks for INFP Writers.

As an INFP writer, it took me a REALLY long time to figure out my writing process. I felt like I just couldn’t stick to an outline. I just couldn’t work in a straight line. Ideas multiplied in my head like rabbits, but then these rabbits ran here and there and it was awfully hard to catch them.

As a writing coach, I find that my INFP clients face the same challenges. All of them are highly imaginative & highly creative. They are the kind of people who walk into the world and see stories....

The Pain and the Grief of this Moment in Time.

The Pain and the Grief of this Moment in Time.

Here, in the United States, protests have swept the entire country after George Floyd’s tragic death. I have thought about writing about this for a while and then stopped myself. Who am I to say anything as a brown woman so far removed from this experience? And what exactly can I say in a situation where words shrink into nothing?

This is a moment for all of us to turn inwards and look at our own biases and prejudices. This is a moment to think about how some lives are more fragile than ...

Why this might be a great time to find your tribe.

Why this might be a great time to find your tribe.

Here where I am, in the San Francisco Bay Area, things have started opening up after the intense shelter-in-place. Last weekend was a long weekend with Monday off for Memorial Day, a national holiday to remember the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the military. Because it was a holiday, this weekend saw lots of people heading to beaches and parks here in the Bay Area and in California in general.

Not all of them seemed to follow social distancing guidelines.

I...

Do you feel like you are walking into a dead-end with your book?

Do you feel like you are walking into a dead-end with your book? Why it

Are you writing your first book & feeling as if you are walking into a dead-end? Everything was going great for a while. In fact, the writing was flowing. It was moving, and you were dancing with it. But now, this whole writing-a-book business feels like a tangled-up ball of yarn that you just can’t untangle. Now, you are feeling as if you have made a mistake. You have run smack into a wall.

Are you destined to feeling resistant? Are you destined to not finish this overwhelming task of w...

Are you having trouble reading?

Are you having trouble reading?

On the one hand, this shelter-in-place time is a great time to read. After all, books can be cocoons, nests, and springboards. But a lot of us are also feeling more anxious and in-our-heads. And some of us have time-constraints and less time because we might be homeschooling or spending more time on household chores.

If you are feeling like this, one or more of these ideas might be helpful!

If you are a parent with young children, pick up a children’s book that you will enjoy reading...

Responding to COVID-19: An Insight about How to Be More Adaptable.

Responding to COVID-19: An Insight about How to Be More Adaptable.

We all seem to be living either in an episode of Black Mirror or in Alices topsy-turvy world nowadays. I feel different things on different days. I am guessing you do too. Of course, the real fight is being fought on the frontlines by doctors, nurses, and scientists. But in the meanwhile, the rest of us who are fortunate enough to stay at home are going through this time in different ways.

Like everyone, I have had my moments of anxiety in the past few months. But there has been one silver...

Writing Advice from My Dreams.

Writing Advice from My Dreams.

I am working on my next book and was feeling frustrated at how slow Ive been going recently. I admit I have also been trying to force myself forward. But then, recently, something happened that shifted my perspective.

One morning, I woke up from a dream with a very clear image in my head of a hen sitting on top of an egg. I didnt remember anything about the dream except this after-image. But it was so clear that I realized that that is what I was doing.

I was incubating the rest of my...

Responding to COVID-19: Some Fantastic Podcasts to Nourish Yourself!

Responding to COVID-19: Some Fantastic Podcasts to Nourish Yourself!

This post is for those of us who are lucky enough to work and stay at home in these chaotic times. If you are anything like me, you are using books, TV shows, podcasts, and movies to both distract & nourish yourself nowadays.

I thought I would share some podcasts I have been dipping into. The following list includes podcasts that talk about creativity, affirmations, synchronicity, books, setting boundaries and more. I will also point out specific episodes when its appropriate that might...

The INF Summit has been Extended!

I was one of the speakers at The INF Summit recently. It was a one-of-a-kind online event created by fellow kindred spirits Lauren Sapala and Jas Hothi. It brought together more than a dozen INFPs and INFJs introverted, intuitive, feeler types from different areas of life.

It included authors, creative entrepreneurs, and coaches. Considering all that has been going on in our world lately, Lauren and Jas have extended the viewing date for the summit.

So, now its free to watch until May 31,...

Free Listening Sessions in April and May!

Free Listening Sessions in April and May 2020 for highly sensitive people and highly sensitive creatives.

In the past few weeks, I have seen a lot of my writer friends and writers I follow do some really amazing things. People are offering courses on discounts, donating proceeds from workshops they are conducting, and thinking of other creative ways to help out in these crazy-making times of the Coronavirus pandemic.

I have been wanting to contribute something too. And I thought the best way to share of myself is by offering some free sessions.

What we can talk about.

I also work as a...
