Do you want to connect more deeply with your intuition?
I wanted to do this quick post to share this interview I did with the wonderful Dr. Bernard Beitman for his radio show Connecting with Coincidence. Synchronicities and meaningful coincidences are a favorite topic of mine and Dr. Beitman is a world-renowned expert on them.
In fact, he is the first psychiatrist since Carl Jung to systematize the study of coincidences. So, I was a little nervous when talking with Dr. Beitman. But it was lovely at the same time!
Check out the interview here.

A Story about Synchronicity.
I love the topic of synchronicity! Synchronicity, according to Carl Jung, is a “meaningful coincidence.” An event happens that is not directly related to the other event, but there’s a meaningful connection between the two. Sometimes, things happen in our psyche, in our inner world, that are meaningfully related to something that happens outside.
Let me give an example from The Empath’s Journey. I relocated from India to the United States around seven years ago. In the first few years, I...

Are you a high sensation-seeking HSP?
Last year, I wrote a detailed blog post about how I am a high sensation-seeking HSP. I have often felt as if there are two people inside me, one that is stepping on the accelerator and the other that is pushing the brakes. One part of me loves new experiences and craves variety. I love to travel, try new things and explore the unexplored. Then, there is the other side of me, a side that is very cautious and highly risk-averse.
Did you know that a third of highly sensitive people are also...January 21, 2020
Highly Sensitive People are Highly Responsive People.
This month, I am part of Sensitive Evolution’s wonderful blog series that features articles by 15 experts in the highly sensitive space. Dr. Tracy Cooper, Jacquelyn Strickland, Ane Axford, and Esther Bergsma are some of the featured experts. My article is about something I have been thinking about a lot lately — how the way we set boundaries as sensitive people is influenced by the fact that highly sensitive people are also “highly responsive people.”
As highly sensitive people, we are not...

Do you arrange your life to avoid getting overwhelmed?
As an INFP, I don’t do well with strict goals and plans. Action steps don’t seem to motivate me in the same way they do other personality types. Instead, I like to follow my feelings, intuitions, and hunches. I like that feeling of precious possibility that makes life beautiful.
But there is, of course, a downside to this. Sometimes, not having a plan can mean you are following the path of least resistance. It’s easy to make up excuses and reasons for not doing something. And one of my “...

Do you struggle with your process as an INFP writer?
For many long years, I struggled with expressing my creativity. Part of it was because of my intense struggle with some deep creative wounds. But part of it was also because I just couldn’t seem to work like other people.
I felt like I just couldn’t work in a step-by-step, 1-2-3 fashion. My mind seemed all jumbled up. It started from one point and then found a hundred different routes. It kept dropping down rabbit holes. If I were to start writing a book, how would I ever manage? Wouldn’t I...

What’s Your One-Word Theme for the Year?
For the last few years, as the new year begins, I am enticed by online posts that talk about choosing a one-word theme for your entire year. I think I first came across the idea on writer Gretchen Rubin’s blog. It sounded like so much fun!
Basically, you hone in to one word that’s your overarching theme for the entire year. It might be something like “Adventure,” “Finish,” “Travel,” “Simplify” or “Rest.” Different people could have completely opposite themes, like “Bigger” or “Smaller.”

Sharing Some Good News! A 2019 Highlight!

I am so excited and happy to share that I was awarded a silver medal in late-November at the awards ceremony in India for my work with helping spread awareness about highly sensitive people! The awardees for this year...
