I don't see everything that will develop with 501 c 3 World University and School being newly and officially in Google for Nonprofits as Google creates this further, but I think one important connection is how Google for Nonprofits develops with Intuit's QuickBooks (and TurboTax) and re WUaS as a non-profit being in QuickBooks via TechSoup. I think that Intuit being near Stanford with John Hennessy connections may possibly also help focus Intuit on digital currency questions - with WUaS potentially focusing planning for coding for all 7.5 billion people, each a Wikidata Q item number, re universal basic income experiments (for alleviating poverty), (and avatar bot electronic medical records too). Here UBI experiments would be a way to distribute a single digital currency with blockchain somehow backed by some number of ~200 countries' central banks or legal systems (am thinking state of California's Stockton UBI experiment, as model for state/central bank > UBI > probably accessible partly via a bank card or smartphone or similar).

So WUaS would seek to hire, for example, Reedies who have gone on to graduate school to be graduate student instructors to teach Hum 101 online as WUaS develops.

Second, WUaS would like to offer graduate school opportunities to Reedies - and for online Ph.D. degrees, as well as online MD and Law degrees, and eventually in ~200 nation states' languages, online. WUaS is in the process of licensing for Bachelor and Ph.D. degrees with the state of CA's BPPE presently.
Third, WUaS would like to hire faculty and staff eventually from among Reedies.

Fourth, WUaS also in 2017 became a second parallel legal entity - the WUaS Corporation - which is a for-profit general stock company. And WUaS would like to explore collaborating with FAR in developing this both online and on-the-ground with time. Reed could advance far with this wing, especially - and re collaboration!

Dear Scott,
The world is an invisible concept and as I internalize the world, borders disappear! Countries are no more! And I myself disappear in it. Great fullness is all that remains, which gets destroyed as soon as one of my daily tasks comes knocking. But I am able to go back to that warmer feeling once more, until the pressure of the task makes me come back to the outer world. Sometimes I know that I have several things waiting that expect my attention. That is confusing so I have to go to one and then the other and the boundaries of the present world have returned. When I ask myself : how about Scotty's world university, I get confused for the world is an area just around me and the rest is as abstract as it is when I withdraw into the deeper levels.
When you want me to talk about the external world university, I agree it is a fantasy world, a virtual reality and not real. For me not worth thinking about, for it would drive me into a confusing and paralyzing state of helplessness ....
It seems fine for you though, but do not ask me to join , please.

When I read about it - your writing about your world (in your Yoga Hall school in Eftalou in Greece?) - I enter into your world and learn via these digital communication technologies, which are all external to my inner world of meditation ~ inner releasing action (relaxation response) ~ soaking in the Harbin warm pool socially/with people all around ~ Yogic sitting in warm water. These communication technologies via your writing too open your world to me. When I come to your course in Yoga learning in Greece, I may have read your Yoga web site inviting this joining possibility. The world (work too) of World univ & sch mediated by information technologies just outside people ("an area just around me"), where we will freely learn & teach (wiki-wise) will include soaking meditation in the virtual Harbin warm pool for learning and undoing ... one joins by typing on the iPad, watching an Angela & Victor Yoga video from Yoga ~ https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Yoga ( https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Subjects ) ~ getting into one's bathtub with digital mask holding smartphone and hanging out at Harbin, and undoing as learning & joining & connecting. The open wiki side of this world school is as you like it (yoga-wise to).

For those who study at Uni Amsterdam, MIT, Stanford, Oxbridge and now join in World Univ & Sch online for MIT OCW-centric degrees, their lists of things to do in the world, task-wise, for learning, will be different joining-wise too.

The world symbolically mediated, whether learning Yoga from you in your school or online, meditating, or visiting Harbin, generates reality - the real - in our bodyminds.

Into sitting in meditation for me here, where these little borders of 26 letters, and the borders surrounding images (like the Twitter bird I see on my smart phone) will soon disappear. Sitting and yogic communication - both good.

Methinks intentional community for me may have to emerge in beginning a family (and not in any emergence from communities' thinking out of the '60s & '70s.

And onto the ongoing creation of our worlds ... painting after painting and letter after letter ... thanks to beautiful language!

Glad to get my Walsh Scottish small pipes' Combo Drone working on both its notes (D & E) and with the tuner as a beginning baseline from the High A on the chanter - and in newly exploring playing what I'll call "modal, medieval" harmonies (a la folk rock band Steeleye Span from the late 1960s and 1970s, and Jethro Tull too) which is a sound I'd like to explore further. Appreciating too our generative learning conversation in these lesson regards - and glad to connect too. Thank you.
Glad too to work out my tuning question re differential blowing for high A compared with low A on chanter ... and to focus on the blowing of the high A for tuning as a kind of baseline.
Great too to explore playing the 4 different tunes from sheet music, and potentially in different keys, with the Combo Drone:

The Streaker (in E?)
The Queen's Own Highlanders Polka (in D?)
Paddy's Leather Breeches (in B?)
... to hear what tunes might work with which 'chord drones' and why.

Linda won't be able to head to Yellow Springs to a course with Angela 10/19-10/23 - ... since there are no Quantum plays scheduled then, I noticed. Could you possibly please inquire with Karla Boos ... would like to invite Linda to this course with Angela Farmer - per you 'odds and ends' suggestions - re taking or teaching a Yoga course :) As you'll see below, I'm exploring too moving to, and teaching Yoga in, Pittsburgh perhaps in the second half of 2020, even while I continue to develop World Univ & Sch, and teach there too. Thank you for the invite to study with Angela in Yellow Springs, Ohio. I will be in Italy from Oct 7- Nov 10 for our back-to-back Yoga Retreats. So I will not be able to attend Angela's workshops. I hope you get to attend!
I think all the places you mentioned to teach are good options. Friends Meeting House is renovating. I imagine it will be beautiful. Their rental charge is reasonable. Homewood Library is also a good idea! I think it would have be donation based in the library. But that can work nicely.
And also the arts center is a good idea. I have taught out of a few Presby Churches through the years and that has always been easy.
I don't know the actress you mentioned, but I just saw Quantum's latest production "looking for violate". The chilean music was amazing!

Thanks for your email. Your teaching in Italy sounds very very wonderful! And what a great trip as well! It looks like I'll probably miss "Looking for Violeta" if I were to head back to Pgh for 19 Oct-23 Oct for a course with Angela ... and although my mother saw a Quantum show recently this August, I haven't heard back from my mother Jane about Yoga in Yellow Springs, whom I've inquired about with her. My mother knows Karla Boos, Quantum's director, so will wait re any indications from ma mere in these regards.
Thanks too for the feedback about good Yoga spaces to teach in in Pgh. Am curious - brainstorming-wise - how you and I exploring teaching together could increase people in our hypothetical combined course, and in our individual classes. Will give this some thought - I know of no Yoga teachers that teach regularly together in a city - and flourishingly. Do you? Angela and Victor only seem to be mostly teaching together in Greece these days - and people come a long way to take their courses - and Lesvos isn't a city. And I haven't heard much about Rodney and Colleen teaching Yoga together these days, for ex., but re this Yoga journal article about Rodney and Donna - https://www.yogajournal.com/lifestyle/yoga-couples-donna-fone-and-rodney-yee - it seems that if one of the co-teachers was an organizer, that this could increase attendance in the co-taught Yoga classes, as well as the individually taught Yoga classes. And while she too is a Yoga teacher, she gets to study with Angela by bringing her to Yellow Springs, and both she and Angela earn some money, and share Angela's wonderful teaching there. Seeking to give this co-teaching idea more consideration.

Am thinking of heading again to the Klamath-Siskiyou bioregion - https://www.kswild.org/ksregion - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klamath_Mountains_(ecoregion) - https://www.worldwildlife.org/ecoregions/na0516 - of southern Oregon / northern California on my way north to Reed in September. I actually drove through this vast continental US forested area in June - and was 'wowed.' Would like to explore a bit further. David Rains Wallace published a book called "The Klamath Knot" (Sierra Club Books - 1983 / University of California Press) in the early 1980s while I was at Reed I recall ... about its evolutionary biology, and mythology ... focusing on the unique species that have evolved there due to unique evolutionary and geological history. Echoes of David Quammen's books, Oregon environmentalism / Cathedral Forest Action Group thinking too (non-violent activism, possibly compared with Earth Firsts' sometimes militant activism, for ex). Oregon was a hippie haven / heaven in the 1960s and '70s too. Although it occurred to me on this trip also to explore Hart Mountain Hot Springs, I may instead head to Hart Mountain Hot Springs, Plush, OR 97637 on the way back from Wisdom Creek Ranch to SF Bay Area possibly in June of 2020. Seeking a Toyota camper van hybrid (and there aren't any in the US, believe it or not, but there are 3 in other countries: the Proace, Lerina and Alphard ... go figure) since the Toyota Sienna isn't really a camper van. I appreciate Toyota's design qualities and relative value.

Seeking to record the remaining tunes today in the CoP's Blue Tutorial Vol 3 as Tune Tutorials before lesson with Finlay tomorrow morning. Have gotten some new holes punched in my bellows' arm band strap - so there's no more wiggle room in it, which is good. Recording these tunes creates a kind of recording baseline from which to develop too.

Am not teaching "Society, Information Technology and the Global University" - http://worlduniversityandschool.org/InfoTechNetworkSocGlobalUniv.html - this autumn, but will do so probably in spring or autumn of 2020.

Glad that 501 c 3 World University and School is now listed in Google for Nonprofits which is a ginormous step - https://scott-macleod.blogspot.com/2019/08/drakaea-orchids-world-university-school.html - and that we became a parallel for-profit legal entity, the WUaS Corporation in 2017 ... which together is a very unique and great opportunity.

And I hope this step into the Google ecosystem is the beginning of building out World University and School further in that Google platform - whereby my course would be listed too there. Hope too to teach a course on Harbin Hot Springs and ethno-wiki-virtual-world-graphy soon too - and potentially in this new developing Google-centric platform as well.

Getting listed on Google and in Google for NonProfits is momentous - and may or should even lead to monies (which is the point of Google for NonProfits theoretically).

Nicely cool today - mid 70s - where the Fahrenheit 80s, upper 80s and 90s are meltingly hot here on this Canyon-ridge - and unbearable. When I went to Gray Whale Cove state beach yesterday because of the heat here in Canyon, I got another glimpse of the ever so diverse social life in California walking down the steps to beach, on the beach and in the parking lot ... there isn't a vision in the people I saw of a 'comfortable' life ahead, albeit California is rich as a state, and something like - if compared with nation states - CA would be the 7th richest nation state in the world!

... with some of these people living at the margins. Me-thinks this is emblematic of aspects of West coast & California / Oregon 'society' ... not sure how much and what kinds of opportunities or cultural vision there are in California, which is quite a melting pot.

I'd like to create online the extraordinary opportunities that a Stanford creates - - - at World University & School - for both matriculated students and wiki-Universitians (teachers & learners). How to add the best of Stanford's open culture - its learning, talks, thinkers, professors & culture to inform WUaS with parallels to best STEM CC-4 MIT OCW?

Could make sense to check out & explore the Sierra mountains and other mountain ranges in California / Oregon - hot springs too - a fair amount this late summer and autumn ... may do so on my trip to Portland OR for the 14 Sept weekend.

Just connected further with Bruce Maxwell (who went to Haverford and is an architect and kind of an old hippy & Quaker too) and Jane Maxwell (I don't know if they're related or not) both of whom I know through Scottish circles here about Scottish small piping and a bicycling trip Jane took to Scotland this spring where she passed by the Maxwell castle there. And I also mentioned how I'm seeking a partner / wife / mom-to-be ... am getting the word out there. :) Bruce had mentioned a small piping focused group at one Allan Keith's house around Sebastopol (1.5 hours a way) on first Sundays - which is invitation only. Who knows but that I might meet someone at something like this?

Konrad and Govind, I'd like to introduce you to one another: Govind is on the World University and School Board, if you don't know each other. Re FAR, I'm exploring in writing here how World University and School might be of benefit to Reed - and potentially re careers for Remedies.
First, World University and School would like to explore offering a required - and inspired - Hum 110 course online which we might call Hum 101, and also for developing the conference method online (in group video to begin) at World University and School - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Conference_Method_of_Teaching_and_Learning - and eventually in 200 countries' official languages. So WUaS would seek to hire, for example, Reedies who have gone on to graduate school to be graduate student instructors to teach Hum 101 online as WUaS develops.

Second, WUaS would like to offer graduate school opportunities to Reedies - and for online Ph.D. degrees, as well as online MD and Law degrees, and eventually in ~200 nation states' languages, online. WUaS is in the process of licensing for Bachelor and Ph.D. degrees with the state of CA's BPPE presently.
Third, WUaS would like to hire faculty and staff eventually from among Reedies.

Fourth, WUaS also in 2017 became a second parallel legal entity - the WUaS Corporation - which is a for-profit general stock company. And WUaS would like to explore collaborating with FAR in developing this both online and on-the-ground with time. Reed could advance far with this wing, especially - and re collaboration!

Fifth, coding opportunities at World University and School are enormous for Reedies! (WUaS is quite Google-centric, as well as Wikidata-centric).
