Biden Invites Child He Victimized to SOTU Address

During President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address on Tuesday, the president promised to lower prescription drug costs.
He brought up the high price of insulin, using Joshua Davis, a 13-year-old from Virginia with Type 1 diabetes, as an example.
Davis sat in the upper balcony of the House chamber during the address, and the cameras focused on him as Biden made his point.
The president blamed pharmaceutical companies for making insulin so expensive for people like Davis.
“He and his dad both have Type 1 diabetes, which means they need insulin every day. Insulin costs about $10 a vial to make,” Biden said.

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin opted to sit with Republican members during Tuesday’s State of the Union rather than his Democratic colleagues.
The West Virginia senator instead sat between GOP Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker and Utah Republican Sen. Mitt Romney, directly behind Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst.
As Biden gave his address, Manchin remained seated and refrained from clapping as others applauded the president for lauding items within his Build Back Better bill, including the expanded Child Tax Credit that expired in December, which Manchin opposed.
During parts of the address, Manchin was spotted leaning over to speak to Romney on several occasions.

Following the address, Romney told reporters he “asked” Manchin to sit with him. Manchin chimed in, we’re “showing unity, working together. Showing the whole world we’re together in standing behind Ukraine.”
“Senator Manchin sat with his colleague Senator Romney to remind the American people and the world that bipartisanship works and is alive and well in the U.S. Senate,” said Sam Runyon, communications director for the West Virginia Democrat.
When asked what he thought of Biden’s speech, Manchin said, “It was a good speech, sure.”

Progressives Rage over One Thing Biden Called For In SOTU Address

President Joe Biden departed from far-left Democrats during his State of the Union address on Tuesday when he dismissed the “defund the police” movement.
“Proven strategies like community violence interruption, trusted messengers working the cycle of violence and trauma and giving young people hope,” he said. “We should all agree the answer is not to defund the police. It is to fund the police — to fund them.”
The president also recalled the funerals of NYPD officers Mora and Rivera, who were killed when responding to a 911 call.

Schumer Stood Up At Wrong Time

Democratic New York Sen. Chuck Schumer stood up to clap at the wrong time during President Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address on Tuesday.Biden touted the passage of his $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan, which prompted Schumer to stand and begin applauding in the middle of the speech. The Senate Majority Leader quickly sat back down, before standing back up again at the end of the president’s sentence.“The American Rescue Plan helped working people and left no one behind,” the president concluded, followed by applause on the House floor. The camera, social media users and the general public quickly took notice of the senator’s poor timing. Senate Democrats prioritize radical abortion bill over aid for Ukraine
The United States Senate has returned from recess, and the first major item on the legislative agenda is not humanitarian and security aid for Ukraine’s war against Russian invaders. Instead, Democratic leadership has scheduled a procedural vote for a radical abortion bill that would essentially codify Roe v. Wade into federal law. Democrats will attempt to advance the Women’s Health Protection Act Monday, a bill that advocates say will enshrine the right to an abortion into United States law and protect abortion rights in case the Supreme Court overturns Roe later this year. Pro-life activists warn the bill would severely undermine state laws to protect pre-born children and prevent pro-life legislation from being passed in the future. The Supreme Court recognized a constitutional right to abortion in its 1973 decision in Roe. In addition to establishing a statutory right to an abortion, the Women’s Health Protection Act would erase …

Netanyahu Tells Israeli Government to Exercise Caution on Russia: Focus on Iran

Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday said Israel should be more cautious about its attitude to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and instead put its focus on the Iran nuclear deal, which was more of an “existential security threat.”
“In days like these, it’s advisable to take positions with the utmost caution,” Netanyahu said at the opening of Monday’s Likud faction meeting according to a translation of his remarks by The Times of Israel. “Unfortunately, in the last few days we’ve heard too many unnecessary expressions and too many false predictions.”
Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid has condemned the Russian invasion in harsh terms and on Monday announced that Israel would co-sponsor a vote against it at the UN General Assembly.
Israel is one of few Western democracies that is an ally of both Russia and Ukraine and has been cautious about taking sides since Moscow’s invasion. Russia also has heavy military presence in Syria and controls its skies and as such, Jerusalem coordinates all military strikes on Iranian targets in Syria with Moscow.
In addition, both Ukraine and Russia have large Jewish communities and Israel …

Foreign Minister YaIR Lapid: Israel CondemnS Russian Invasion of Ukraine

Israel will co-sponsor a U.S. and Albanian United Nations General Assembly resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said Monday.
“Israel was and is on the right side of history,” Lapid said in a statement. “We have a moral duty and historical obligation to be part of the effort.”
The move comes days after Israel upset the U.S. by refusing to co-sponsor a similar resolution at the U.N. Security Council. Monday’s special emergency session was only the 11th one of its kind in United Nations history.
Lapid added, however, that “even our American allies realize we have to be careful [because] Russia is the significant military force in Syria.”

One of the alleged disinformation operations was a propaganda campaign featuring a website promoting anti-Ukraine information. This was reportedly linked to a known Russian disinformation operation. A Facebook spokesperson explained that the disinformation operations used AI-generated faces linked to fake columnists and news articles in an effort to add credibility to the campaign.
The other disinformation operation allegedly used hacked legitimate accounts to push anti-Ukrainian propaganda and had links to a known Belarusian hacking group. The networks were removed by both Facebook and Twitter.
Nathaniel Gleicher, Facebook’s head of security policy, said that the larger of the two campaigns operated from Russia as well as the Donbas and Crimea regions of Ukraine. The group is reportedly tied to the websites News Front and South F …
