Ex-Deputy NATO Commander: West Must Be Ready for War With Russia

Sir Richard Shirreff, who served as NATO’s deputy supreme allied commander for Europe from 2011 to 2014, told Times Radio on Friday that the Atlantic alliance ”must be ready” for war with Russia as their invasion of Ukraine reaches a tipping point.

Shirreff suggested that the West quickly send ”heavy equipment” to Ukraine, including ”long-range artillery, precision fire missiles, anti-missile defense, and tanks and other vehicles.”

The former top NATO official said he does not believe that Russia distinguishes between the supplying of offensive and defensive weapons and that he doesn’t either.

”Weaponry is weaponry. The best form of defense is attack,” Sherriff said.

”NATO must be ready for escalation. NATO has to be ready for a Russian response,” he proclaimed.

Shirreff criticized how NATO has handled the conflict thus far, saying that the organization ”must be ready …

Iran imposes sanctions on 24 Americans as nuclear talks stall

REUTERS/Dado Ruvic/IllustrationRegister now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.comRegisterDUBAI, April 9 (Reuters) — Iran said on Saturday it had imposed sanctions on 24 more Americans, including former Army Chief of Staff George Casey and former President Donald Trump’s attorney Rudy Giuliani, as months of talks to revive a 2015 nuclear deal have stalled.Almost all the people named were officials who served during Trump’s administration, which imposed sanctions on Iranian officials, politicians and companies and withdrew the United States from Iran’s nuclear agreement with world powers. In a statement carried by local media, the Iranian Foreign Ministry accused the sanctioned Americans — who also included several business figures and politicians — of supporting “terrorist groups and terrorist acts” against Iran, and Israel’s “repressive acts” in the region and against Palestinians.Register now for FREE unlimited access to Reuters.comRegisterEleven months of indirect talks between Iran and the United States in Vienna on salvaging the 2015 deal have stalled as both sides say political decisions are required by Tehran and Washington to settle the remaining issues. The sanctions let Iranian authorities seize any assets held by the individuals in Iran, but the apparent absence of such assets means the move will likely be symbolic.Gen. Austin Scott Miller, former commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, former U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, and several former ambassadors are among the officials targeted by the new Iranian sanctions. In a similar move announced in January, Iran imposed sanctions on 51 Americans, many of them from the U.S. military, over the 2020 killing of General Qassem Soleimani in a drone strike in Iraq. read m …

Battle of Donbas: A Massive Tank War Could Decide Ukraine’s Fate

Russia and Ukraine appear to be in the final stages of preparation to fight the Battle of Donbas, in what is shaping up to be the biggest tank battle in Europe since the decisive Battle of Kursk in World War II. The stakes for both Moscow and Kyiv couldn’t be higher. The course of the entire war could hinge on the outcome in the Donbas. On February 24, Russian forces invaded Ukraine on four major axes of advance, near Kyiv, Kharkiv, the Donbas, and up through the Crimea. In spreading their limited numbers of troops, Russia’s military leadership violated one of the oldest principles of war: mass. Instead of designating a primary objective and allocating the bulk of their combat power to seizing that objective, they dispersed their forces so widely that Ukraine’s defenders were able to repulse all four axes. After suffering serious combat losses in the environs west and north of Kyiv, Russia acknowledged its failures and about a month into the war made the decision to limit its failures in the Kyiv and Sumy regions by withdrawing all its forces and repositioning them to the northern side of the ongoing Donbas fight. Russia also kept its forces north of Kharkiv conducting limited probing attacks and harassing artillery fire to keep the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) from withdrawing to join the Donbas fight.
South of the Donbas, Russia is in the final stages of completing the destruction of the UAF defenders of Mariupol, …

The quartet launched from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Friday morning without any major hiccups. Their journey to the ISS took around 20 hours. The Dragon ran into a video routing problem before the docking sequence could start, causing a 45 minute-delay as it stayed roughly 20 meters away from the ISS while SpaceX was troubleshooting the issue. The crew members — commander and former NASA astronaut Michael López-Alegría and businessmen Larry Connor, Eytan Stibbe and Mark Pathy — are expected to spend eight days on the space station. They’ll conduct science experiments, along with outreach and commercial activities. They’ll also bring some scientific samples back to Earth for NASA as well.Axiom Space’s first all-civilian mission, AX‑1, is the first of several private ISS missions the company plans to launch in the coming years. It will build the first commercial module on the space station as well as a module that houses a sports arena and film studio. Democratic lawyer Sussmann fights Durham’s use of FBI expert testimony on Alfa Bank data accuracy

The Democratic cybersecurity lawyer charged with lying to the FBI about who he was working for when he shared internet data that suggested a now-debunked Trump-Russia link doesn’t want special counsel John Durham’s expert FBI witness to testify about the information’s accuracy.
The legal team representing Michael Sussmann complained that the special counsel “never once suggested that it intended to call an expert witness” for months, according to a Friday evening court filing. “Now — a mere six weeks before trial — the Special Counsel has provided a perfunctory and lega …

BIDENS ‘IN REAL TROUBLE’

Hunter Biden has been making lots of headlines in recent weeks. The corporate media has finally decided to tell the truth about the corrupt behavior of America’s most problematic First Son, and they’re now reporting what most have known since October 2020. Hunter Biden is a corrupt man who has used his famous last name to sell American political access to wealthy foreigners from countries adversarial to the United States. This is a five-alarm fire of political corruption, and Americans deserve answers – as well as to know the extent of Joe Biden’s awareness of his son’s activities. Joe Biden once described Hunter as the “smartest man” he knew. Given the media firestorm on his doorstep today, he may be re-evaluating that opinion.

This new wave of coverage comes after liberal media outlets spent months battening down the hatches in a coordinated effort to protect the Biden family name from legitimate scrutiny. Recall how in October 2020 – just weeks before the 2020 election – the New York Post accurately reported that Hunter Biden had abandoned a laptop full of incriminating information about his foreign activities at a computer repair shop. Corporations like CNN and Twitter acted quickly, sowing doubt on the Post’s reporting, de-platforming the outlet from social media in a brazen act of censorship, and inevitably describing the very real scandal as “misinformation.”

The contents of the laptop – which the New York Times has now confirmed as legitimate — were as concerning then as they are now. For one, emails showed that a Chinese energy conglomerate CEFC…

Trump Scores Huge Legal Victory…

New York City is a liberal bastion and the elected officials appear to not want any reminders of former President Donald Trump in that city, but a judge just nixed one of the city’s plans.

The city wanted to cancel the Trump Organization’s Ferry Point golf course in the Bronx but a judge ruled in the organization’s favor this week, Bloomberg reported.

The city ended $17 million worth of contracts with the company in February 2021 after the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol, including deals to operate a carousel and two ice rinks in Central Park. The company, which had a Nov. 14 deadline to leave the course, sued the city in June.

New York said the organization breached a provision of the contract that required it to “operate a course capable of attracting professional tournament-quality events.”

The city argued that the PGA of America’s announcement in January that it wouldn’t hold its annual championship at Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey, course led it to believe that no golf organization would associate itself with the Bronx course if it was connected to Trump after the Capitol riot, according to the suit.

Governor makes good on pledge to bus illegal immigrants to D.C.

Texas has dispatched buses to the southern border to retrieve illegal immigrants after Gov. Greg Abbott said this week that he planned to send those released in his state to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.

Within the last 24 hours, the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has dispatched an unspecified number of buses to small Texas communities that are said by officials to be overwhelmed by an influx of migrants placed there by the federal government.

“In the last 24 hours, TDEM has dispatched buses to areas where communities have expressed concerns about the federal government dropping off migrants and has the capability to send as many as is necessary to fulfill the requests from mayors and county judges,” Seth Christensen, chief of media and communications for TDEM, told Fox News Digital.

Christensen also said the majority of areas in the state that expressed concern over the large numbers of illegal immigrants being placed in their communities now say the federal government has “stopped dropping migrants in their towns” since Abbott’s announcement.

$1.5B in unclaimed tax refunds is set to expire. Don’t lose out

Sponsor Content: Tax advice for recently married couples and new parents filing in 2022 There are certain groups of people who aren’t required to file tax returns every year. For example, single individuals with gross income below $12,550 don’t have to file their 2021 tax return this year, and the same can be said for retirees who don’t have any taxable retirement income. However, even if you are in a group that doesn’t have to file a tax return, it’s typically to your benefit to do so. In simple terms, people in the lower income brackets tend to qualify for valuable tax credits that can result in a big tax refund. In fact, the IRS recently revealed that taxpayers are entitled to $1.5 billion in unclaimed tax refunds from the 2018 tax year — and the deadline to claim them is approaching fast.WAITING ON A TAX REFUND FROM LAST YEAR? HERE’S SOME GOOD NEWSWasn’t the 2018 tax deadline three years ago? Yo …
