The Hypertrophy Bomb: One Set for Muscle Growth

Explosive Muscle Growth with Layered Sets
I designed this method to take advantage of the four mechanisms of muscle growth, all “layered” into a single effective set. It might look like a normal set to untrained eyes – albeit a tough one – but there’s a lot going on. These four layers, performed in the optimal sequence, will stimulate maximum growth.
I’ll give you the main points of the method right now. If you want to know more, stick around for the sciency stuff.

The Growth Layer Set

First, select an exercise and the right weight. Make sure it’s an exercise in which the target muscle can be stretched under load with maximum tension. Choose a weight that’s around 70% of your max.
Layer One – Do 4–6 Reps With A 4‑Second Negative
Perform the eccentric/negative phase slowly (about 4 seconds) and use the fullest range of motion possible to really feel a muscle stretch at the bottom of the movement.
Do reps this way until you feel like you only have 1–2 left in the tank. Do not go to failure. That should be around 4–6 reps.
Layer Two – Do 3–5 Regular Speed Reps

North Carolina Could Be Next in Joining Initiative to Restore Balance Between State and Federal Government

North Carolina could be joining the Convention of States that seeks to restore the balance between the state and federal government using Article V of the United States Constitution.In March 2021, the North Carolina House passed House Joint Resolution 233, which calls for the state to be added to the convention, now leaving it up to the Senate to follow the House’s lead.
A Convention of States freedom rally will be held in Raleigh, North Carolina, on June 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., where there will be multiple speakers, including Convention of States Action (COSA) Co-Founder and President Mark Meckler.
“This has never been done before in American history,” Meckler told The Epoch Times. “The ability to do it is contained within the second clause of Article V of the Constitution.”
Article V gives states the power to call a Convention of States to propose amendments. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments that are proposed, Meckler said.

US Consumer Sentiment in May Falls to an Almost 10-year Low

The final May edition of the University of Michigan’s Sentiment Survey, which was released on May 27, delivered even worse results than the preliminary May data with a further drop in consumer sentiment.The index fell from 65.2 in April to 59.1 in the initial May report to 58.4 in the final—the lowest level since August 2011—as consumers express more economic pessimism due to rising prices.
The final reading confirmed the early reports showing a decline in consumer sentiment in May, falling 10.4 percent from April and moving back down below March’s reading of 59.4.
The current condition index fell to a 13-year low of 63.3 in May from 69.4 in April, while future expectations dropped to 55.2 from 62.5 in the previous month, respectively.

A top Republican said on Friday that President Joe Biden is raising gas prices on purpose.Sen. Lindsey Graham (R‑S.C.) made the remarks when he was asked on Fox Business’s “Wall Street with Maria Bartiromo” to respond to Biden’s recent comments where he said raising gas prices is part of “an incredible transition.”

Ohio to use GOP-friendly maps for state-level elections, federal court rules

A federal panel ordered Ohio to enact a slate of GOP-friendly state-level maps previously deemed unconstitutional for this year’s midterm elections.
The panel opted to intervene after the Buckeye State blew past a deadline last week, failing to have a map in place for its state congressional districts by Saturday in defiance of a prior order from the federal judges. The slate of maps, known as Map 3, has been regarded as friendly to Republicans and was stricken by the Supreme Court of Ohio in March.
“We chose the best of our bad options. Given the factual record before us, two reasons justified our approach. First, no map had won the approval of both the Commission and the Ohio Supreme Court. And second, Map 3 gave the State the most time to fix its own problem. That broke the tie,” Judge Amul Thapar of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals wrote.

Obamacare ‘Double Whammy’ to Hit Right Before Midterms

A temporary COVID-19 relief program that aimed to lower healthcare premiums under the Affordable Care Act is slated to expire and voters would begin receiving notices just weeks before the midterms in November.Under the Biden administration-backed American Rescue Plan, a temporary program was initiated to cut monthly healthcare premiums to make it more affordable for people purchasing individual plans under the ACA, also known as Obamacare.
However, according to analysts, the program is scheduled to expire and notices about premium increases will be sent out in October. The midterms will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 8.
