Hero Moment Of The Week – Hugh Grant in NOTTING HILL
Yeah, I know the movie is terribly old, and that Hugh Grant is either a love-him or hate-him kinda actor. But Notting Hill remains one of my top five all time favourite movies.
After a couple of weeks ago's Hero Of the Moment, featuring Steve Martin, where I pointed out that a true romantic hero doesn't have to be biceps and beefy goodness, cutting swathes through mortal enemies to make our hearts pause, it occurred to me that there's one of those moments in Notting Hill. It comes right at ...

How To Make An Impression In One Easy Lesson
My mum and dad have be
en visiting since Friday. Like me, they're both Australian. Actually, if it's possible, they're even more Australian than I am. Their accents are far broader than mine ever was, they spend as much of the day and the year outside as they can, they love the heat, watching sports, and their barbecues. As an Australian, I was always a failure. No wonder they kicked me out of the country. (Yes, I'm kidding.)
Anyway, for the first time since I moved here in 1996, they've b...

My Erotic Political Thriller GUNS 'N LOVERS Series and BLUE KNIGHT.

Sometimes I can't see the forest for all the trees that are in the way. The other day a reader asked me "so what the hell is this Guns 'n Lovers thing all about?
My first reaction was "well, d'uh!" because to me it's so bloody obvious. It's right there. Put the two books together, Red Leopard and Black Heart, and add the next five that are to come, and you get this whole rich, complex series that…well, actually, only really lives inside my head right now.
There's only two books you can...

Let's Get Serious. Who Shall We Talk To?
Lemme tell you my Charlaine Harris horror story from the RT Booklovers Convention.
I got onto the elevator on the 10th floor, and there were about ten or twelve ladies, me and Mark. Quick glance around the car showed pretty much everyone was wearing the RT badges. So, all in the family, so to speak. Then someone noticed the name on the badge of the the fairly short lady in the far corner.
"Oh, my goodness! Charlaine Harris!"
No one actually moved their feet any closer to the lady. But...

Authors Shouldn't Read Other Authors In Their Genre
I've been very slowly getting into the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton over the last few weeks. I came to it kicking and screaming, as I tend to resent being told what to do. Everyone was telling me I simply must read the series, especially since I was waxing lyrical over Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series.
I've just finished reading Cerulean Sins in the Anita Blake series, and I am so hooked on Anita Blake now. It's book 11 in the series, and there's seven to go, and...

Excerpt Time – Erotic Urban Fantasy Romance BEAUTY'S BEASTS
It's been a while since I ran an excerpt, and as I spent the day on Love Romances Cafe last Friday, I felt it was only fair I share the bounty with you. I ran a lot of excerpts there last week, and they seemed to really go over.
So here's one of the excerpts I ran there that got a lot of comments.
OutlineBeauty's Beasts is the sequel to Carson's Night, and will be out on June 11.
Riley Carson Connors is yanked out of Pittsburgh and coaxed to New York by two tall, sexy strangers. Nicholas...

Hero Moment of the Week – Thomas Crown: A Sophisticate Shows He's Vulnerable
The Thomas Crown Affair has been around for a while (1999), but it's still one of my favourite movies, bar very few. And even the version that I love is a remake. The original movie was made in 1968 and starred Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, who had a cameo role in the remake.
I love both of the main characters. In particular, I love Katherine Banning's moxy and strength. She has balls, and wasn't afraid to show it, in a way that few females are, and yet still manages to remain 100...

My Husband The Rock Star
Hot Hot Heat (left) are a Canadian alternative rock band that have been around since 1999, have been on The Tonight Show, done European and North American tours, some film appearances, and generally are doing rather well for themselves.
Except if you have a good look at the photo on the left, you'll see that their base guitarist is actually Mark Posey, my ever-lovin'.
Huh? Yeah, you might ask.
For their latest single, 21 @ Midnight, the band filmed the video in Edmonton, and decided they...

RED LEOPARD Now Out in Kindle Format
Red Leopard, the first book in the Guns 'n Lovers erotic romantic suspense series from Ellora's Cave, is finally out in Kindle format. This is one of the very last of my books to come out. There were cover issues slowing its release, and there are still cover issues — the Kindle edition is using, for some bizarre reason — the very first edition's cover, which is really, really old, and almost embarrassing to look at. ~grin~ Flip over to have a look and see what Ellora's Cave use to...
