CAIRO TIME – A Possible Tear Jerker Of A Movie Just Made For Romance Readers
Cairo Time looks like one of those movies that everyone is going to ignore. It hasn't got an A-List cast. The stars are older, there isn't a huge PR and promotion budget and it isn't being trumpeted from the rooftops.
I only tripped over it when Mark was doing his usual catch-up on the latest movie trailers on the Apple site, and saw the title. I twitch when I see anything to do with Egypt and Northern Africa, so I made him go back a page and click on the trailer.
Oh wow…
It wasn't some...
Ellora's Cave author Vonna Harper guesting here on Friday
Ellora's Cave author Vonna Harper is marking the release of her new book, Whitewater Hunter, with a guest appearance here on Friday.
And goddamn, isn't that one hell of a cover? Look at the chest and the eyes on that guy! Oh wow! It makes you want to pick up the book, just looking at him. That jawline is something else!
Anyway, Vonna will be visiting on Friday (she has pointed out that "guesting" isn't a word, and suddenly, I'm all self-conscious about using it, even though I was perfectly ...
The "Electrifying" RED LEOPARD
As you all love excerpts so much, I'm starting a Monday tradition. My erotic romantic suspense series from Ellora's Cave, Guns 'n Lovers, may soon have a new addition to the family, so let's start there, with the beginning of the series, Red Leopard.
____
Calli Munro, American, soon-to-be economics professor, and single by choice, arrives in Vistaria during La Fiesta de la Luna, a combination of Mardi Gras and Carnival. Calli's there to keep her sex-kitten cousin, Minnie, out of trouble...

How To Kill Your Darling Book

Once upon a time, writing erotic romance used to be a mater of moresexmoresexmoresex.
Those days are long gone.
If you've been following my posts for very long, you'll have noticed for yourself my own discoveries via reader feedback and reviews that there has been a genuine shift in erotic romance reader demands these days. As little as three years ago, readers couldn't get enough quickies (short stories) and novellas, and the moresex you could cram in there, the...

Loving Care and Attention Of Books (Do You Dog Ear?)

Every book lover has developed habits over the years for keeping their book collections from taking over the house.
What's your?
Tracy over at Tracy's Place started this top with her blog post today, "My Idiosyncrasies with Books". There's some fine comments there, to be sure, proving that some book readers can out-anal even moi.
Scary thought, that.
But all the comments so far are to do with paper books. Oh, and some hardcovers.
And I'd love to hear some...

Ellora's Cave is on Huffington Post…as a Disney Ride!
The Huffington Post, if you're not familiar with it, is arguably one of the most influentual and most highly trafficked news blogs on the web, receiving over one million comments a month. Its Alexa ranking is 152, which gives you a solid indication of just how big the blog site is.
Ellora's Cave was co-featured in an article there a couple of days ago. Andrew Shaffer's "Top 5 Disney World Attractions to See This Summer" gives, as the title indicates, a description of the five
best things to ...

"Quick and Steamy" – CARSON'S NIGHT Gets The Sexy Rating from Night Owl Reviews, Too.
Night Owl Reviews just sent me a notice that a review for Carson's Night has been posted — a lovely surprise as the book has been out for a while, and it didn't get much notice when it did come out.
I had to laugh when I read the review though!
Carson's Night is quick and steamy. Like many short stories, it is more of an erotica tale than maintaining a plot. Instead of the reader getting a lot of plot and glimpses at sex, it is more the other way around. Teal Ceagh can weave a sex scene...

I've long been a fan of National Geographic, although it's been a rare year I could actually afford a subscription to the paper magazine. I've been a subscriber to their on-line newsletter ever since they went digital, though.
I've itched to be able to have the hours necessary to raid their site for all the fabulous pictures they've got in archives. Because if there's one thing I adore about National Geographic it's the stunning, high...

Ebooks Buying is Addictive?
There's an absolutely fascinating post up at Smart Bitches, "Happy Dance Open Letter About Impulse Buying eBooks" that quotes from a letter the blog received from a reader who has been impulse buying books on her Kindle that she wouldn't have otherwise bought, and is so very, very grateful to have read as a result.
I urge you to read the post and come back here when you're done.
The letter is a glowing testimony for the joys of ebook reading, but there's a number of subtle and not so subtle...

Carina Press, One Month On
So I wandered over to Carina Press this morning and had a wander around for a while. They've been open for just on a month now and I thought I'd have a look-see.
I've seen a couple of their titles reviewed here and there, so I was curious to see what the site looks like now the bubble wrap is off.
It's an interesting place. Have you had a look yet? One of the first things that strikes you is how clean it all looks, and how simple the interface. You can figure out exactly where everything...
