Baltimore Comic-Con Coming Soon
Well, kids. The awesome Baltimore Comic-Con is just around the corner. (September 7-8) I’ll be selling my usual crap I find in my garage. ;-)
This year I’ll be doing two pencil commissions for the show. That’s right. TWO commissions.
Each commission will be a full PENCIL illustration on 14″ x 21″ Bristol board with minimal background. Each commission is $800.
Just email me at monkeyboycho@gmail.com and tell me which character you want. First come, first served.
ATTENTION: You or your friend must be at the show to pick up the art. I WILL NOT MAIL OUT THE ART.

Usagi Yojimbo Pin-Up by Frank Cho – Baltimore Comic-Con 2013
- FRANK CHO: Usagi Yojimbo pin-up for Baltimore Comic-Con 2013 -
Just finished putting the final touches on my watercolor pin-up of Usagi Yojimbo. For those who are in the dark about the character, Usagi Yojimbo is a samurai rabbit created by the super talented artist and writer, Stan Sakai.
Baltimore Comic-Con is celebrating Stan Sakai’s masterpiece, Usagi Yojimbo, by publishing a special Usagi Yojimbo art book. Various artists have come together for the book and to honor Sakai by drawing their version of the beloved samurai rabbit character.
Here’s a bit of good news for all you art collectors out there, all the original artwork will be auctioned off at the Baltimore Comic-Con, including my watercolor pin-up shown above.
So come to Baltimore Comic-Con on September 7- 8 and join in the celebration of Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo and the world of comic books.

Painting Progress – Blue Beauty
- FRANK CHO: Blue Beauty WIP oil painting – click to view full image -
I’ve been working on a giant nude oil painting all week. Something I’ve wanted to do for awhile but just didn’t have the free time to do it.
I’ve forced myself a mini-vacation to center myself and recharge my battery. And nothing recharges one’s battery then oil painting for the sheer fun of it.
I’ve blocked in the figure and started detailing it. This is my second pass at the figure, tightening up the anatomy and polishing up the tones.
I still have a long way to go, but the overall look and feel of the figure is coming along nicely.
The painting canvas is 48″ x 60″.
