Life Update Time!
Sorry I’ve been AWOL, folks! Spring and summer are not my most productive seasons and this year has been worse. Between the insane temperature changes, high temperatures, and just general life stuff, it’s been hard to get anything done. Complicating my life further, my day job is moving offices. That means we’ve been packing and prepping things for the past few months, moving them in this past week. Did I mention it was over 100 pretty much the entire week? No? Well, it was loads of fun!

Poll Results
Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out the questionnaire, no matter how much or little you did. I really appreciate it! This will help me tailor what I’m doing a bit more for my audience. I can’t promise that I’ll make the changes quickly or well, but I will see what I can do to improve your experiences.
But that’s not really why you’re here. You want to know who won the different polls! So, without any further ado…

Heroine and Hero Poll 2022!
It’s that time again! Time to vote on your favorite heroes and heroines. Okay, there are more questions than just about the characters. Actually, this year, I decided to combine both polls into one, and I added some more questions. I will leave this form active, but voting for the polls will officially close at 5pm PST on Friday, April 1st. I will release the results either Friday or Saturday.
Did I mention I’m using a new program? Sorry if there are technical issues. I’ll leave the link righ...

Exploring Themes
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I would talk more about silence, so here I am! Silence is a major theme with both pieces of source material. So, let’s get into it!
The SacrificeLet’s start with the fairy tales first. In The Little Mermaid, she has her voice taken and has to try and win the prince’s love without being able to speak. In “Six Swans”, if she speaks once, she will ruin everything and her brothers will be stuck as swans. They are very different stories with very different mora...

What Did I Keep and What did I Change?
Alright, if you haven’t read the book yet, you should probably do that before you read this post. I’ll wait.

Cool! Well, as I discussed the original fairy tales in my last post, I won’t need to go into depth about that. Let’s get to the meat of it!
I got the idea for putting my own spin on The Little Mermaid around the time that I started working on Belle Lied. I didn’t originally intend on having so many books in this series, thinking that I would only do five or six, ...

Little Mermaid and Six Swans
Welcome back, folks! I hope you liked the latest entry into the Refurbished Fairy Tales. It was a bit of a crazy ride to write. But, that is probably something for a different post. Let’s talk about the original stories that inspired this tale.

As some of you probably know, I very much dislike Hans Christian Andersen’s stories. I know, sacrilege, but very much worth pointing out. They are much newer than most fairy tales, so they don’t have the same purpose as the older ones. They are mor...

Incentives!
Hello everyone! Just thought I’d stop by and remind my long-time readers and all you newbies that I do provide incentives for reviews, mainly more stuff to read. I got overwhelmed by work last month (aka until a few days ago) and totally forgot to set something up for the anthology, so here I am! This is your reminder that there are incentives!
Anthology: If you guys get to the following numbers for reviews on any and all sites, I will release two reviews.
