Happy 2023!
It is officially 2023 and, wow, last year was a ride.
Typically, I look back at what I accomplished in 2022, but this year, I want to look at my goals from last year as well and see how well I did. Anything that was completed will be bolded and have a star in front of it. If it was begun but not finished, it will just have a star. It is still an accomplishment, just not as much of one. If neither occur, well, neither will occur.

Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone! My final gift to you this year was a lot of fun to write and a total surprise. I was hosting Flash Fiction Club and wanted people to write a holiday piece in the world of their current work in progress. I ended up writing a lovely holiday dinner with our favorite fairy tale family, the Mercers.

Almost there…
Okay, by now you probably know that I love using images as prompts. It is fun to take bits and pieces of them and give them significance. I found a picture by AquaSixio called “Tied to You” that showed a pair of jellyfish swirling around each other. I thought it was beautiful and made me think of a Doctor Who Christmas Special with fish in the fog…
Anyway, enjoy on this, the night before Christmas. One more day and one more gift to go!

Looking at the Past
This post was inspired by a comic that someone posted in our writer’s chat, and I just had to do something with it. I’ll post the comic after the story.

Advent Day 22
Back to another fabulous picture by Piper Thibodeau (I have to look that spelling up every time) and this time it is going to mix with a familiar world…

Advent Day 21
This was a part of my November writing challenge. I had to use five words in this story: coincidence, fisherman, landowner, ignore, and tract. Random word generators are actually really useful when you need to challenge yourself.

Potato Dragon!
This is once again based on an image from the artist Piper Thibodeau. She is one of my favorite artists, and I just… I can’t even. Please look her up and support her work if you can. If you are an artist, she has a book all about how to draw dragons that you can find by following the link here.

Advent Day 19
Flash Fiction Club strikes again. This was a fun prompt based on a single question: Where is Patrick Spring?

Advent Day 18
Okay, so yesterday’s story didn’t end so happily—or middle so happily, for that matter. So, let’s mix it up and enjoy a nice, non-tragic slice-of-life.
