Poetry: Starving after a Feast

“Here,” they shout.

“Feast.”

All of this can be yours

A task beyond ease

And, of course

for a fee

The Kings and High Queens

behind the table

to the peasants on bleeding knees

“Reach if you are able”

And of course, without thought

they fight tooth and nail

toward the table, they claw

But only a few will prevail

Some are stomped

Some blatantly killed

This is the cost

of a winners will

When they finally reach

the table and it’s grand feast

there before the kings and queens

they receive a greet

Then mouths, oh so pleased

smile and say

“You may eat.”

The winner is handed

a platter of their dreams

“I’ve done it.

I’ve done it, finally.”

But when they look back, they see

all the people they left

They left to bleed

in an ocean of screams

Then they realize, haunted

this isn’t what they wanted

They traveled so far

for a feast that made them starve

The grass isn’t always greener on the other side. Sadly, it takes reaching the other side to find that out.

Thanks for reading! Stop back by tomorrow morning for more poetry

Poem: Mudshovel

So I’ll get messed up

till I forget love

till I forget us

and what was

What could’ve been

is just too much

Driving down this road

is just too rough

And it’s leaving me

a bit cut up

a bit numb, coz

when I went to touch

I found your heart to be

ice cold

Now all of us

All that I know

has been turned to dust

Within the winds of a tornado

You took the hourglass

of my life

You broke it, and

wasted my time

In the rear view mirror

I reflect, and

I’ve never seen it clearer

So I break the glass

because there is no need

for me to look back

As there is nothing to see

It’s just too dark

and I’m too far

to see the clouds of smoke

from our warzone

I pack up the duffel

and spit in the puddle

where I buried what was

with this mudshovel

Road Trip to Tennessee has been Life Changing

Several weeks ago, I quit my job and vowed to devote the rest of my time to pursuing my dreams. Several days later, I took a road trip to TN and decided to stay. When I got here my friend let me stay in one of his empty properties–which has no furniture, internet, or running water.

At night, I sleep on the ground, surrounded by roaming roaches, and all through the day, I blog, vlog, and write/record music.

So much has happened, and at the same time, nothing has happened. This little journey has taught me a lot about myself and it’s truly pushed me to my limits.

And I’m glad to say the journey is only just beginning. From this moment (tomorrow) on, I’ll live out of my car while traveling and, of course, continuing to chase my dreams.

My family thinks I’m crazy and they keep trying to talk me outta this–but I know what I want. I’ve honestly never been happier.

Thanks for stopping by!

I happily invite you to follow along this adventure with me. Who knows where we’ll end up?

Maybe I’m simply on a road to nowhere fast.

Poem: In Love with Love

I just remember the day

it’d sound so fake

every time

you’d call me Babe

Everyday

when I’d awake

Even when

you’d say hey

Especially when

you’d say my name

The way we might

feel miles away

every time

we hugged

even though

we were always together

oh so

so close

You wanted me to say

I love you

every time

we fucked

but you weren’t

in love with me

you were

in love with love

Thanks for reading ❤

Poem: Am I still Alive?

From time to time

I’ll stare into the mirror

to try and make sure

I’m still alive

Because the lack of feelings

I feel inside

makes me think

I’ve already died

“Do you feel alive?”

“I feel like I’m fading. Like I’ve been gradually becoming someone else for a while. I don’t feel like myself. I feel crazy.”
