Day 3,627: Coopey Doopey

Got some stuff done today! Another light one work-wise—which changes tomorrow, got a whopper coming in—so it was some catchup. Getting ready for the conference coming up. Getting the podcast caught up. So much catching up to do on stuff that I either let grow wild because of grief and depression, or because I set it aside to finish my book. SO MUCH. Day 3,626: Prompts

I restarted yoga today. And took such a hard nap because of it, lol. It’s only been two weeks since I paused, but damn. I missed it. And obviously I need to get back into it because it exhausted me.

Started sketching out stuff for the next book. Next few books, actually. Sent some ideas to my cowriter to see what he thought about it. We’ll see what he says. Day 3,625: Impossible!

A floaty kind of weekend. Which is to be expected, since I finished by book this week. Kind of the post-exhaustion daze, I guess. I’m really proud of how I finished this book, though, because it wasn’t a mad scramble to the end. That last day of writing was just kind of a normal writing day. I wrote 18 pages to finish the book. Not, like, forty. I’m really proud of that. And tomorrow, I get right back to it: I’m plotting out the next one. I don’t think I’ll have it finished by the end of the yea...

Day 3,624: New App!

So…apparently, WordPress is moving over their mobile/ios app stuff to “Jetpack” rather than the wordpress app that I’ve used for almost ten years now…which I don’t really understand, but here we are! Looks pretty much the same, but I’m hoping things like trying to upload a featured image will actually work here as opposed to literally being broken every single time I try it 😛 I’ve got my workarounds, but it’s never, ever worked the way it was supposed to.

Day 3,623: Lobster

It’s late, so making this a quick one, but I’m writing in total darkness right now, which is wild, because it makes me realize that I’ve learned to touch-type. I remember taking classes for that when I was a kid, but not really putting my mind to it. And now, just because I write so much, I can type on a keyboard without looking, in the dark, can’t see the keys at all. Pretty cool. I guess writing a few books will do that, huh? 🙂

Day 3,622: Love Sam

Dove right back into the manuscript today and finished all of my to-do rewrite notes except one, which I’ll tackle tomorrow. And then it’s a race to do a last read through and touch up. Race, big time, since the editor is expecting it by this weekend.

It’s in good shape, though. Like I said…this one was a little easier. Not sure if that means better, per se, but it was easier. Thank the stars.

Wiped. Time for sleep. Night night.

Day 3,621: Done

The fourth novel is written. Not exactly done, I guess, since it’s right back to work tomorrow morning doing some cleanup and rewrites, but it is WRITTEN. I will not miss my deadline. I did it. My plan I set up for making up lost ground this summer fucking WORKED. It’s a banner day.

This book was interesting. It was, for the first time, easier. Truly. I put this book together with far less angst and anxiety, and it’s turned out well. I’m happy with it. Some of the stuff in this story slaps. I...

Day 3,620: Aw Yeaaahhhhh

It did get done today, but it will tomorrow. Not a work. Just facts. Tomorrow will be the day. One more big scene.

It’ll be the fastest I’ve ever written a novel. Last week of July through September. Almost exactly two months. That’s…man. That’s amazing. And it’s a solid book. Better than the last one, I think. It slaps. Particularly here at the end.

I’m learning stuff. Stories are starting to get easier to tell, little by little. Step by step.

Tomorrow is the day.

Day 3,619: Actually Close

Man. I’m actually close to finishing this book. One more great day might do it. If not, one more great day, and then one more easy, quick day. It’s funny, I was actually feeling it today. The music was good, the scenes were flowing. It wasn’t a rush. That was a relief. I can definitely give into rushing these scenes at the end, particularly when the action is fast and heavy. But not today.

Day 3,618: On the Edge

I’m on the edge of finishing this book. Wobbling. Really wanted to push hard today and couldn’t find it. Really want to push hard tomorrow and finish, and hoping I find it.

I find my mind wandering into the future and the past. Thinking about where I want to go, and where I’ve come from. That makes it hard to focus on the here and now, which is that this book is ALMOST DONE.

Sigh. Think good thoughts for me. I can finish the damn thing tomorrow. I am, truly, that close. I want to finish it...
